33 Day Consecration to Our Lady of the Rosary, Day 2

Dear Family of Mary!
33 Day Prayer of Consecration to Our Lady of the Rosary - Day 2
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit!
Receive our Consecration prayer, O dearest Mother Mary!

"Dear children! Today I call you especially now to advance against satan by means of prayer. Satan wants to work still more now that you know he is at work. Dear children, put on the armor for battle and with the Rosary in your hand defeat him! Thank you for having responded to my call." (August 8, 1985)

Mother Teresa carried a rosary in her hand as much as possible, and told her sisters to pray the Rosary as they walked, wherever they were going.  She understood the power of the Rosary and the great need the world has for it to be prayed.  Mother Teresa, please pray for us in this day to pray the Rosary!!
Supplication to the Queen of the Holy Rosary:

"O Blessed Rosary of Mary, sweet chain which unites us to God, bond of love which unites us to the angels, tower of salvation against the assaults of Hell, safe port in our universal shipwreck, we will never abandon you. You will be our comfort in the hour of death: yours our final kiss as life ebbs away. And the last word from our lips will be your sweet name, O Queen of the Rosary of Pompei, O dearest Mother, O Refuge of Sinners, O Sovereign Consoler of the Afflicted. May you be everywhere blessed, today and always, on earth and in heaven". (Blessed Bartolo Longo)

We commit ourselves to praying the Rosary for your intentions, dearest Mary, our Mother, as You enter this final battle with Satan, for the sake of souls. We will take up the Rosary as an obligation that we will fulfill with great joy! Together we will pray for Your Triumph over Satan, and for the coming of a New Time of Peace which has been given to us through You, Oh Clement, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary!! Amen

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit! As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen

Now we pray our Rosary for today! The Luminous Mysteries!!

I also have a treat for you!  The homily for September 4 at English Mass was given by Fr. Pat, who has been leading our Novena in honor of Our Lady's Birthday, Sept. 8.  Our shipmate, Stephanie, transcribed it for us.  It is a true gift!  Here it is in full:

English Homily in Medjugorje

GospeL: Luke 4:38-44

It's a very powerful and most interesting passage from the gospel proclaimed for us, where we heard how Jesus healed the mother-in-law of Peter. And then later, we're told, He cured all who were sick, and expelled evil spirits from many. It's, you could say, it was a big day's work. And yet, that's the mission of the church in all ages: to continue the ministry of Jesus.

But what is the reality that we experience in most of the dioceses, countries, parishes that we come from? In reality, we probably find that the Church is weary and tired. We don't always experience what it could be, the full reality. And yet, all around us, in today's world, we see suffering and pain - the disintegration of society. The breakdown and disintegration of families with all of the resultant pain that builds up.

I often ask myself the question, "Was there ever a time when there were so many individuals suffering so deeply? So many individuals suffering, so deeply?"
But the good news is that the Lord is not blind to the misery that so many of His children are experiencing all around the world, and in so many families. Neither is He deaf to the cries that go up from His children who are suffering. And so, the Lord, in His Amazing Providence has, you know, done something that we couldn't do.

For the last 50 - 60 years in so many dioceses all over the world, there have been all kinds of pastoral programs set in place to bring healing and mercy and renewal to families and to parishes, with limited success. Sometimes, very effectively. Other times, no.

But the Lord Himself has intervened in a very special way. And that is, He has sent His Own Mother to be His Special Envoy. And She comes to remind us again of what was always there in the Gospel, but which maybe we had become a little bit deaf to. And so, Our Blessed Mother was chosen and sent to this very special parish - sent and continues to be sent.

Why? I suppose to put it simply: To help us find what rich and poor, young and old are all seeking. Rich are seeking it. Poor are seeking it. Young. Old. And that is: Peace of mind. And a sense of meaning and purpose and direction in life. So many people today are asking, "What is life all about?"

And very often that question only leads them to the abuse of all kinds of drugs and relationships, etc. They don't find the answer.
Medjugorje has been described in many different ways and lots of images are used to describe what is going on here and has been going on. My favorite one is that Medjugorje is the Intensive Care Unit of our sick and suffering modern world.

The Intensive Care Unit. I am not saying that lightly, or to amuse you. I am saying it in all sincerity as a result of the numerous times I have visited the Intensive Care Unit, which is Medjugorje, over the last 35 years. I must be a chronic case!

Here in Medjugorje, our Blessed Mother offers us a prescription for our healing. She has drawn it from the Gospels. But She has put it in simple motherly language.
It involves a Five-Point Plan for you - and your healing and welfare - for your family, for your parish, for our Church. If you haven't heard of it, ask your group leader or your spiritual director to explain that plan to you. Because if that's Our Mother's Five-Point Plan for your peace and your healing and your family, well then, you need to get that prescription and get it written up and act on it. (Prayer, Fasting, Confession, the Bible, Eucharist)
There's one place here in Medjugorje, I suppose, which is the most intensive part of the Intensive Care Unit, perhaps, apart from the Eucharist. That is where most of the major heart surgery and curing heart transplants takes place. Do you know where that is? Just out here (points to His right). Just out here: The Confessional.

Confession in Medjugorje is one of the most wonderful, amazing, transforming experiences that people have. You know, we use different words to speak of Lourdes and Fatima. You know, Lourdes - Healing. Fatima - Conversion.

I think, Medjugorje, it's - Encounter. An encounter with Mary, an encounter with Jesus, and then, transformation.
In the Confessional, our misery meets with Mercy - the Endless Mercy of Jesus.

Our misery meets the Endless Mercy of Jesus! Jesus invites you to come. He welcomes you in Confession. And whether it's been seven days since your last confession, or seven weeks, or seven decades, you are equally welcome - that's not true actually. That's not true, in fact, if you're seven decades away, you will actually - totally unfair - but you will get a far, far bigger welcome. That's the kind of Jesus we have.

But there are some, of course, who will say, that's ok for others, but not for me. God couldn't forgive what I have done. And, of course, that is not true. I just give you one example, but it could be any, we could pick any example for different people. The one example that I am most conscious of is, maybe a person here this morning would say:

"I can't be forgiven, because I had an abortion," or
"I had several abortions," or
"I supported and paid for my wife or girlfriend to have one," or
"I voted for the killing of children."
"How could I be forgiven?"

I want you to hear this, and this is true: Jesus died on the cross for you too!
Jesus loves you and weeps for you in the night when you are in agony and filled with self-loathing and guilt and self-rejection. He wants to change that self-hatred into, by His embrace, His Healing Embrace. And that's the beauty of Our God.

There is NO sin - there is NO sin that is too big for Him. There is NO sin that cannot be forgiven! Your sins won't shock Jesus. But His Mercy and His Healing may very well shock you - in the best sense of the word.

So, if you, personally, or a loved one of yours, had an abortion; first of all, Confession, but secondly, and remember this, check out the Rachel's Vineyard web site. I'll repeat that: Rachel's Vineyard. It's a weekend retreat for women who've had abortions; for men, too, -- anyone who has been hurt by that experience. On these weekends, we always experience extra-ordinary miracles of healing. Rachel's Vineyard. (https://www.rachelsvineyard.org/)

In conclusion, could I just say it to myself and to all of you: Don't waste these precious days here! The time will come when the apparitions here will stop. And you will be saying, "Wasn't I so privileged that I was here?"

But, don't waste the time in drinking cups of coffee all day. It's wonderful to meet with people. You meet the most inspiring people here, who will really inspire you. But also you need to get time on your own. So, husbands and wives: Time on your own. You can blame the priest!

And on your own, pour out your heart to our Blessed Mother. Whatever is in there, whatever hurt, whatever pain - whatever it is - pour it out to Our Blessed Mother. And allow Her to lead you to experience, in a very real way, the Love that Jesus has for You!
(Homily from 9/4/19 - English Mass Medjugorje, Fr. Pat Scanlan)
