July 3 – The Three Kings or Holy Magi (Cologne, Germany) – Apparitions of Marpingen, from July 3, 1876, to September 3, 1877 (approval pending)

“I am waiting at the gates of Germany”

The Virgin Mary appeared in Marpingen, Germany, on three different occasions. In 1876, she appeared to three 8-year-old children. As in Lourdes, she introduced herself as "the Immaculate Conception." Then in 1930, she appeared to a man, saying: "I am waiting at the gates of Germany, weeping as Jesus wept over Jerusalem." Finally, in 1999, she appeared to 3 young women, Marion Gutman, Christine Neg and Judith Hiher. The apparitions ended on October 17, 1999.

This is one of the messages the Virgin Mary gave, dated July 18, 1999:

"God looks at you and loves you. He awaits the conversion of the world and asked me to carry it out. And I ask you with all my heart as only a mother can do: Open your hearts! Carry your cross! Love the cross! Pray! Repent and save the world with me for the glory of the Father in Heaven who awaits those souls. He so loves humanity and wants people to return to him... Love God, my children, and open your hearts. Follow the path that I show you and I tell you that you will find the way to Jesus; and through Jesus, you will come to the Father."

Miraculous healings still occur here

Our Lady of Piat enthroned in its shrine in Piat (Wikipedia)
The Basilica of Our Lady of Piat is located in the outskirts of the city of Piat in the Cagayan Province of the Philippines.

In 1604, Dominican Friars brought a statue of the Black Madonna known as "Our Lady of the Holy Rosary" to the Philippines. Some years later, on December 26, 1623, the statue was solemnly installed in a small chapel, on the feast day of Saint Stephen. The event made a big impression on people. Although the area was sparsely populated and had been evangelized less than 25 years before, a huge crowd came to attend.

Later, the statue of Our Lady of Piat was carried in procession to other cities in the Philippines. This is why she is also called Our Lady of the Visitation. Since the feast of the Visitation was celebrated on July 2 in the 17th century, this date still remains the feast day of the shrine.

Miraculous healings continue to occur to this day through the intercession of Our Lady of Piat.

Are church attacks becoming more frequent?

Police say the act of vandalism marks the second such incident at the church in a month. (Photo credit: CBS Local 2)
The following comes from a June 25 CBS Los Angeles story:
Police were asking for the public’s help last week to identify who broke the head off a statue of the Virgin Mary and damaged the face of a Jesus Christ statue at a Catholic church in Palm Springs.
Officers responded to a report early this morning of vandalism at the Our Lady of Solitude Church located along the 100 block of West Alejo Road, according to Palm Springs Police Sgt. Paul Abshire.
An investigation found that someone damaged the two concrete statues near the front of the church sometime between 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. June 25, Abshire said.
It was not immediately clear what was used to cause the estimated $2,000 worth of damage, said Abshire.
The incident marked the second vandalism attack in a month at the church after two plaster statues in a different location at Our Lady of Solitude were also damaged.

Dear Family of Mary!

The Message of July 2, 2015:

"Dear children, I am calling you to spread the faith in my Son - your faith.  You, my children illuminated by the Holy Spirit, my apostles, transmit it to others - to those who do not believe, who do not know, who do not want to know - but for that you must pray a lot for the gift of love, because love is the mark of true faith - and you will be apostles of my love.

Love always, anew, revives the pain and the joy of the Eucharist, it revives the pain of the Passion of my Son, by which he showed you what it means to love immeasurably; it revives the joy for having left you his body and blood to feed you with himself - and in this way, to be one with you.

Looking at you with tenderness, I feel immeasurable love which strengthens me in my desire to bring you to a firm faith. Firm faith will give you joy and happiness on earth and in the end the encounter with my Son.  This is his desire.  Therefore, live him, live love, live the light that always illuminates you in the Eucharist.

I implore you to pray a lot for your shepherds, to pray so as to have all the more love for them because my Son gave them to you to feed you with his body and to teach you love.  Therefore, also you are to love them.  But, my children, remember, love means to endure and to give, and never, ever to judge.  Thank you."

Dear Family of Mary!

As we await Our Lady's July 2, 2015 message, let's thank her for the one she gave us on June 2.

June 2, 2015
"Dear children, I desire to work through you - my children, my apostles - so that in the end, I may gather all of my children there where everything is prepared for your happiness. I am praying for you, that through works you can convert others, because the time has come for acts of truth, for my Son. My love will work in you - I will make use of you. Have trust in me, because everything that I desire, I desire for your good, the eternal good created by the Heavenly Father. You, my children, my apostles, are living an earthly life in union with my children who have not come to know the love of my Son, who do not call me 'mother' - but do not be afraid to witness the truth. If you are not afraid and witness courageously, the truth will miraculously win, but remember, strength is in love. My children, love is repentance, forgiveness, prayer, sacrifice and mercy. If you will know how to love, by your works you will convert others, you will enable the light of my Son to penetrate into souls. Thank you. Pray for your shepherds. They belong to my Son. He called them. Pray that they may always have the strength and the courage to shine with the light of my Son."

The tallest statue of Mary in Turkey? - A Moment with Mary

The tallest statue of Mary in Turkey?

Cemil Seboy, candidate of the Party for Justice and Development (AKP) in the region of Izmir (Smyrna, Turkey) stated that, if he was elected in the legislative elections of June 7, 2015, he would sponsor, with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the project to build in the Selcuk district the largest statue in the world dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In statements to the local press, the candidate presented the idea as an attempt to enhance the touristic appeal of the area that is also known for the ruins of ancient Ephesus and the site of Meriem Ana Evi, the "House of the Virgin Mary", discovered in 1891 through the private revelations of the mystic Anne Catherine Emmerich.

The parliamentary candidate’s whim was inspired by the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer of Corcovado, overlooking the bay of Rio de Janeiro. The several projects presented by the candidate at meetings with potential voters also included the construction of a cable car for tourists to access the top of the hill on which the statue of Our Lady would be erected.

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! Also today the Most High gives me the grace to be able to love you and to call you to conversion. Little children, may God be your tomorrow and not war and lack of peace; not sorrow but joy and peace must begin to reign in the heart of every person - but without God you will never find peace. Therefore, little children, return to God and to prayer so that your heart may sing with joy. I am with you and I love you with immeasurable love. Thank you for having responded to my call." (June 25, 2015)

"Little children, may God be your tomorrow and not war and lack of peace..."

It is true that we can choose our tomorrows. Our choices, our acts and thoughts today, set the stage for tomorrow. We are free and so our tomorrows are in our hands.

And that is precisely what Our Lady wants us to understand. We must realize that if we choose war, if we choose anxiety or worry, if we try to be in control of our own lives without God, then we will have war, lack of peace, anxiety tomorrow. And the next day and the next day....

But if we choose today to pray, to entrust our lives to God, to put Him in the first place in our lives and live today for Him, then we will find Him in the first place tomorrow, and the next day and the day after that. The more we choose God as our Lord, our hope, our love, and our life, the more He will be with us. We will build tomorrows full of His presence and His joy.

The key is what we do with today. And so Our Lady tells us that she has been given the grace to call us to conversion. That grace for conversion that comes through Our Lady will help us to choose today to put God in the first place, to give Him total control of our lives and our hearts. That grace of conversion will help us to live today in such a way that tomorrow will be filled with God!

I found a wonderful early message that speaks about this daily choice of prayer and surrender to God. It is a delightful, motherly admonition:

Wednesday, February 29, 1984
"Pray! It may seem strange to you that I always speak of prayer. And yet I say: pray! Why do you hesitate? In Holy Scripture, you have heard say: 'Do not worry about tomorrow, each day will have its own worries.' Then do not worry about the other days. Be content with prayer, I your Mother, will take care of the rest."

"I, your Mother, will take care of the rest." I believe that she does just that. When we surrender our lives to the Lord and to Mary, they take care of everything. And we build tomorrows filled with hope, joy, and peace.

I am reminded of the beautiful "Novena of Surrender to the Will of God" that we prayed together a few months ago. In that novena we prayed, "Jesus, I surrender myself to You. Take care of everything." This is exactly what Our Lady is suggesting to us again in the June 25, 2015 message. (You can find this novena on our webpage here: Novena )

I also think Our Lady's words are a prayer for us. "May God be your tomorrow and not war and lack of peace..." She wants us to have tomorrows of peace and joy. She is praying for us, blessing us, that we will choose today to build these tomorrows. Thank you, dearest Mother, for loving us so much.
