Feast of Saint Faustina

Mary: “When you say the prayer that honors me, the Hail Mary, include this petition in the following manner:

‘Hail Mary, full of grace… Pray for us sinners, spread the effect of grace of thy Flame of Love over all of humanity, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.’”

When we come together in prayer we enkindle

the Flame of Love which literally blinds satan.

Mary: “Do you know what you represent? You are a sparkle of light enkindled in my Flame of Love. The light you receive from me enlightens souls. The greater the number of souls who sacrifice and watch in prayer, the greater the power of my Flame of Love on earth will be. Hence, line-up in close ranks because it is with the power of sacrifice and prayer that the flash of hellish hatred will be overcome. Evil will diminish gradually, the burning flame of hatred will be put out, and the splendor of my Flame of Love will fill all regions of the earth.”

“All grace flows from mercy, and the last hour abounds with mercy for us.  Let no one doubt concerning the goodness of God; even if a person’s sins were as dark as night, God’s mercy is stronger than our misery.  One thing alone is necessary; that the sinner set ajar the door of his heart, be it ever so little, to let in a ray of God’s merciful grace, and then God will do the rest.”

Mary TV: October 5, 2022 Reflection - St. Faustina Kowalska - Divine Mercy

The Divine Mercy Chapel in Surnanci, Medjugorje

I am calling you to mercy...

October 5, 2022

St. Faustina Kowalska

Dear Family of Mary!

Today is the Feast of St. Faustina Kowalska, to whom the Lord Jesus entrusted the beautiful Message of Divine Mercy and the Feast of Divine Mercy!  St. Faustina was a nun who lived in Poland in the early 1900's.  She was called by Jesus to reveal to the world His great Mercy for all mankind.  She was very faithful to the words that Jesus gave to her and through her confessor, Fr. Sopocko, they were spread throughout the world.  She also lived Divine Mercy through her intercessory prayer, especially for the dying.

St. Faustina prayed for and offered mercy to others.  She wrote in her diary how to live Divine Mercy each day.  Here is her list of ways to be merciful:

163 General Exercises

+ O Most Holy Trinity! As many times as I breathe, as many times as my heart beats, as many times as my blood pulsates through my body, so many thousand times do I want to glorify Your mercy.

+1 want to be completely transformed into Your mercy and to be Your living reflection, O Lord. May the greatest of all divine attributes, that of Your unfathomable mercy, pass through my heart and soul to my neighbor.

Help me, O Lord, that my eyes may be merciful, so that I may never suspect or judge from appearances, but look for what is beautiful in my neighbors’ souls and come to their rescue.

Help me, that my ears may be merciful, so that I may give heed to my neighbors’ needs and not be indifferent to their pains and moanings.

Help me, O Lord, that my tongue may be merciful, so that I should never speak negatively of my neighbor, but have a word of comfort and forgiveness for all.

Help me, O Lord, that my hands may be merciful and filled with good deeds, so that I may do only good to my neighbors and take upon myself the more difficult and toilsome tasks.

Help me, that my feet may be merciful, so that I may hurry to assist my neighbor, overcoming my own fatigue and weariness. My true rest is in the service of my neighbor.

Help me, O Lord, that my heart may be merciful so that I myself may feel all the sufferings of my neighbor. I will refuse my heart to no one. I will be sincere even with those who, I know, will abuse my kindness. And I will lock myself up in the most merciful Heart of Jesus. I will bear my own suffering in silence. May Your mercy, O Lord, rest upon me.

+ You Yourself command me to exercise the three degrees of mercy. The first: the act of mercy, of whatever kind. The second: the word of mercy - if I cannot carry out a work of mercy, I will assist by my words. The third: prayer - if I cannot show mercy by deeds or words, I can always do so by prayer. My prayer reaches out even there where I cannot reach out physically. O my Jesus, transform me into Yourself, for you can do all things.  (Diary, entry 163)

Our Lady has asked us to be merciful as well:

March 2, 2019

"Dear children, I call you 'apostles of my love'. I am showing you my Son who is the true peace and the true love. As a mother, through the mercy of God, I desire to lead you to Him. My children, this is why I am calling you to reflect on yourselves, starting out from my Son, that you look to Him with the heart and that you may see with the heart where you are and where your life is going. My children, I am calling you to comprehend that it is, thanks to my Son, that you live - through His love and sacrifice. You are asking of my Son to be merciful to you and I am calling you to mercy. You are asking of Him to be good to you and to forgive you, and for how long am I imploring you, my children, to forgive and to love all the people whom you meet? When you comprehend my words with the heart, you will comprehend and come to know the true love and you will be able to be apostles of that love, my apostles, my dear children. Thank you."

Dear St. Faustina, please pray for us that we can begin to live a life of merciful love today, and through the intercession of Our Lady of Medjugorje, may we become mercy for others.  Amen.

Mary TV: October 4, 2022 Reflection - There is need of only one thing...

There is need for only one thing...

October 4, 2022

St. Francis of Assisi

Dear Family of Mary!

In our Gospel for today (Luke 10:38-42) Martha wanted Jesus to scold her sister for not helping her with the dinner preparations. But Jesus said instead, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her."

Mary knew what she needed! She needed eternal life. And it was from Jesus that she was beginning to find it. She could not take her eyes off of Jesus! He was showing her eternity! We know that Martha changed her mind at Jesus' words and also became like Mary. Both sisters began to long for Heaven!

Our Lady has been trying to draw us all into the desire for eternity through her messages and presence for all these years. Here is a message in which she again called us to long for heaven, to realize that there is need for only one thing, as Jesus said:

September 25, 2021

"Dear children!

Pray, witness and rejoice with me

because the Most High continues

to send me to lead you on the way of holiness.

Be aware, little children,

that life is short

and eternity is waiting for you

to give glory to God with your being,

with all the saints.

Little children,

do not worry about earthly things,

but long for Heaven.

Heaven will be your goal

and joy will begin to reign in your heart.

I am with you

and bless all of you

with my motherly blessing.

Thank you for having responded to my call."

Like Jesus, Our Lady calls us to long for Heaven and realize that there is only one thing necessary! Eternal life!

This is the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi! He is such a powerful example of someone who was enamored with earthly life until one day he encountered Jesus and realized that there was only one thing necessary!! And what a conversion he made! He wrote this prayer which shows his deep conversion, his deep desire for Jesus. Let's pray with him today on his feast, knowing that it is Jesus alone who we need:

“There is need of only one thing”

Our Creator, Redeemer and Savior, you are the only true God, in you is the fullness of goodness, you are the true and sovereign good. You alone are good, loving, gentle, sweet and lovable, holy, just, true and fair, kind, innocent and pure. In you is all pardon, grace, and glory for all the repentant, for the just, for all who share your joy in heaven.

Let nothing separate us from you. Everywhere, at any place, at any hour and at any time, daily, ceaselessly, let us truly and humbly believe in you, love, honor and worship, praise, bless and glorify you, serve you and give thanks to you, most high, sovereign, eternal God, Trinity and Unity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Creator of all things and Savior of all who have faith in you, who put their hope in you and who love you. You are without beginning or end, unchanging, invisible, ineffable, and inscrutable; you are sublime and great, mild and lovable, the source of joy. We desire you above all else forever and ever. Amen. (St. Francis of Assisi. From the October 2022 Magnificat Magazine - Meditation for the Day - October 4, 2022)

Mary TV: October 3, 2022 Reflection - Forgive in your families...

Before all else forgive in your families...

October 3, 2022

Dear Family of Mary!

Our Lady has spoken to us often about the absolute need to practice forgiveness in our lives, especially in the family!  It is hard emotional work to forgive, especially in the family!!  We live so closely and can so easily cause hurt, by an off-hand word or action.  We are all imperfect.  But love can conquer all that!

Here are two messages that Our Lady gave about forgiveness in the family!  She will help us to grow in our ability to forgive and to ask for forgiveness!

January 25, 1996

"Dear Children!

Today I invite you to decide for peace.

Pray that God give you the true peace.

Live peace in your hearts

and you will understand, dear children,

that peace is the gift of God.

Dear children,

without love you cannot live peace.

The fruit of peace is love

and the fruit of love is forgiveness.

I am with you

and I invite all of you, little children,

that before all else forgive in the family

and then you will be able to forgive others.

Thank you for having responded to my call."

January 25, 2020

"Dear children!

Today I am calling you to pray even more,

until you feel the holiness of forgiveness in your heart.

There must be holiness in the families, little children,

because there is no future for the world

without love and holiness –

because in holiness and joy,

you give yourselves to God the Creator

who loves you with immeasurable love.

This is why He sends me to you.

Thank you for having responded to my call."
