The Ascension:
Jesus: My ascension into heaven, My days were past and the time had come for Me to go to My Father. I raised My arms and ascended toward heaven and a cloud took Me out of sight.
This is My might, as I died such a brutal death, I, in all My splendor, left in such glory! I am God. You will die in this world, but you will be carried to the home of My Father.
The apostles were afraid as they watched from below. I promised to send them the Spirit to dwell in their hearts and give them strength. Rita, meditate on this mystery. It is in the resurrection and ascension into heaven you experience such joy. You will go to the Father. You will see the result of all your labors. To stop at the crucifixion is to miss the glory. The glory is found in the resurrection and ascension. That is why these are called the glorious mysteries.
Oh, sweet one, such glory for those who love and serve the Lord! You may die what seems to be a million slow deaths, but your glory awaits you. Do not stop at the Passion. With your children, pray all three mysteries, they all teach about My life. I will teach you the glory of the Lord.

Jesus: I am truly present in the Eucharist. My body ascended into heaven, but My Body and My Blood, under the appearance of bread and wine, remains with you this very day.

It is in Our Lady that God fell in love with humanity. It is upon her that the Dove descended, and the love of God for Humanity culminated in the conception of Christ in the human race. Our Lady said yes for the human race. Each one of us must echo that yes for our own lives. We are all asked if we will surrender what we are, our humanity, our flesh and blood, to the Holy Spirit and allow Christ to fill the emptiness formed by the particular shape of our life. The surrender that is asked of us includes
complete and absolute trust;
it must be like Our Lady's surrender, without condition and without reservation.Resolution:

9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Upholds Constitutionality of 'under God’ in Pledge

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled today that the words “one nation under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance “do not violate the Establishment Clause” of the First Amendment to the Constitution.
The Knights of Columbus led the campaign to add the words “under God” to the Pledge in the early 1950s, and the trial court agreed to allow the Knights of Columbus to join the present case as defendants when it was originally filed in 2005.
“This decision is a victory for common sense,” Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson said. “It is also a welcome reversal of the 9th Circuit’s 2002 decision in a similar case that was ultimately thrown out by the Supreme Court on technical grounds. Today, the Court got it absolutely right: recitation of the Pledge is a patriotic exercise, not a religious prayer.
“Best of all, the Court said that the words ‘under God’ add a ‘note of importance which a Pledge to our Nation ought to have and which in our culture ceremonial references to God arouse.’ Every reasonable person knows that, and today’s decision is a breath of fresh air from a court system that has too often seemed to be almost allergic to public references to God. This is a very good day for America,” Anderson concluded.
In today’s ruling, the Court noted that, “Among the ‘self-evident truths’ the Framers believed was the concept that all people are entitled to certain inalienable rights given to them by the ‘Laws of Nature and Nature’s God’ and that the purpose of government should be to “secure those rights.’” Such beliefs provide the context in which the words of the Pledge must be understood, the Court said.
The Knights of Columbus and several individual Knights and their families were defendant-intervenors in the case, and the court’s 2-1 decision incorporates many of the arguments presented to the Court by The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, a public interest law firm that represented the Knights in the case. Oral arguments before the 9th Circuit panel had been heard in December 2007. Other defendants in the case included the United States government and a Sacramento-area school district.
HAITI - Children in orphanages still a serious situation due to lack of food and schooling

Port-au-Prince (Agenzia Fides) - The little orphanage of San Marie is located in Port-au-Prince. The area, once home to 2,000 residents, now accommodates some 6,000 people who lost their homes in the January earthquake.
Only 500 orphans have been registered with the different local and international agencies in Haiti since the quake, not including the ones living in orphanages before the disaster. According to local caretakers, most children who had one living relative were taken in by them. The children at San Marie, however, have no one. They live in tents donated by French volunteers, assisted by a team of local volunteers.
Food is distributed daily by the UN World Food Programme (WFP) kitchen in the camp, but it is not enough to fill their hunger. Another 900 meals are distributed to school children on the site as part of a WFP food distribution scheme. It plans to provide hot meals to some 170,000 school children nationwide. State schools are closed until 1 April, but local NGOs operate makeshift schools in some areas. In the interim more than one million children remain without access to classes.
The children are stressed, traumatized, psychologically in need. Volunteers from different countries visit the orphanage compound once or twice a week and are an instant attraction for the children. With no toys or playground, every visitor is a welcome distraction. Nineteen volunteer caretakers work in 12-hour shifts, every day of the week, but are unable to address the children’s psychological needs, and local Haitian psychologists are a rarity. The International Organization for Migration has opened a psycho-social cluster for NGOs dealing with post-traumatic stress but it is difficult to access 1.3 million people living in 400 temporary sites. The children will have to wait - for assistance, for clothes, for schools to re-open. (AP)

SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) March 24, 2010 - "It all started with my twitter account. I would do a couple tweets every day after my morning meditation, just about the Scriptures and the Mass of the day... Now I find people following me that aren't necessarily Catholic, just because they like Scripture." Sister Mary Agnes is the co-founder of the Daughters of Mary, Mother of Healing Love, a new private association of sisters headquartered in Rochester, NH. At last count, she had more than 1000 online followers across 5 different social networks. Not bad for a nun in her 40s! Her introduction to the world of social media happened in an e-commerce class at John Paul the Great Catholic University, a new college in San Diego specializing in new media and entrepreneurship. She enrolled to acquire the business skills she needs to help her order in the new millennium. "I need to face the fact that I co-founded a community," she says, "and the women who are going to join us will have grown up with social media. I better know that territory and that landscape, so I can guide them to go back into it as representatives of the church, not in the way they did as teenagers." For a class assignment at John Paul the Great, she created an application to help people pray the rosary while on Facebook. So far, over a million people have viewed (and likely prayed) the Facebook Rosary, and 4,280 users across all 6 continents have added it to their social media bookmarks. "The fact is that a lot of people are searching through the social media. They're looking for something; they're trying to fill a void. I'm trying to make sure that what I add into that void is something good and useful." Pope Benedict agrees that the social web is an important place for the church to be present. In his address on this year's World Communications Day, the pontiff spoke about the responsibility of priests and religious in the arena of the social web. "Consecrated men and women working in the media have a special responsibility," the Pope says, "to help the men and women of our digital age to sense the Lord's presence, to grow in expectation and hope, and to draw near to the Word of God. In this way the Word can traverse the many crossroads created by the intersection of all the different 'highways' that form 'cyberspace.'" Sister Mary Agnes is certainly using different "highways." Her online presence includes a profile on a social network for active runners called DailyMile, where she promotes her community's annual 5k Road Race fundraiser and chronicles her own struggle to get back into the habit of running. "I got a request this morning from a Catholic runner in Mexico, who said he just wanted to have a sister as a friend." The Pope has called for the church to be present online. People like Sister Mary Agnes have responded and so have institutions like John Paul the Great Catholic University, which is launching a degree in New Evangelization this fall. The New Evangelization major will equip students with a deep theological formation as well as new media training. "We have certain academic strengths in new media, biblical theology and entrepreneurship," says JPCU's provost, Dominic Iocco. "Now is the time when students can use those tools to be 'Saint Pauls' for the twenty-first century." # # #

Shame: Tarleton State University in Texas Hosts Hate Play "Corpus Christi"

TARLETON STATE UNIV. HOSTS HATE SPEECH
On Saturday, March 27, Tarleton State University in Texas will host a performance of "Corpus Christi," the Terrence McNally play that was the subject of a major street demonstration launched by the Catholic League in 1998 when it opened in New York City.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue explains his position:
There are three things wrong about this event: (a) the play is hate speech directed at Christians and is far more than just a "gay Jesus" play (b) it is being shown at a state university, and (c) it is being performed on the eve of Palm Sunday.
I saw the play, led the demonstration against it, and debated its supporters when it came out in 1998. Jesus is depicted as the "King of the Queers" who says to the apostles, "F--- your mother, F--- your father, F--- God." The apostle Philip asks Jesus (called Joshua in the play) to perform oral sex on him, and at the end of the play Jesus condemns a priest for condemning homosexuality. Crotch grabbing, simulated urination, etc. color the performance. No wonder even the gay-friendly New York Times slammed it as an artistic bomb.
Tarleton is funded by the taxpayers, most of whom are Christians. That they should have to underwrite hate speech against their religion, on the brink of Holy Week, is not an accident—it is a deliberate act of provocation. No doubt this same university would put aside free speech concerns if students wanted to erect a nativity scene on campus, or sing "Ave Maria" at a university event. They only seem to invoke academic freedom when it suits their ideological agenda.
It's up to the employees and students at Tarleton State to register a protest. Texas taxpayers, and Texas lawmakers who appropriate funds to the university, also have a right to have their voice heard.

Meditation:
St. Alphonsus lists three reasons for Our Lady's greatness in prayer:
- It was continual and persevering (from Her childhood)
- She meditated on the suffering of Christ (visited the sites of the passion)
- She prayed with recollection ("free from every distraction and inordinate affection" )
Resolution:
Today, in my regular prayers, I will try to imitate Our Lady in Her prayer. I will remember the events of the Passion, and I will try not to be distracted. If I become distracted, I will turn to Her and say: "May I hand over to you [whatever is causing my distraction] so that I can get back to praying the way you pray."

"To know the Immaculate, therefore, is of primary importance for loving and imitating Her, for praising and glorifying Her, for mirroring oneself in Her virtues, for discovering oneself in Her examples, for conforming oneself to Her instructions.

Where Are You Going?
Messenger: Where are you going? Did you see the accident, the woman on the stretcher? She was very pretty and young. How is her soul? Is she still alive? Did she think only of her hair, her shape, her clothes or did she have a relationship with God? Where is she going?
Jesus speaks: I am the Way, I am Truth and Life. (Jn 14:6). It is only through Me that you will gain eternal salvation.
Are you busy for your earthly lives? Where do you go when you are called so suddenly? I come, you know not the hour nor the day. A continuation of life is promised to no man here. You will be called, you will have no choice. All that goes with you is how you were in your heart.
Did you put God first and love Him with all your heart, did you love your brother as yourself?
Where are you going, if you are called this day?
Live My life with Me, be united with Me in My suffering and death on the cross. Live Our lives in the rosary. Make the rosary a prayer that is so alive in your hearts that you grow in such love of Mary and Jesus from praying it.
Re-enact Our lives in the rosary, feel Our sorrow and Our joy. Be united to Our lives in the rosary.
The rosary is not just a prayer to say, it is a prayer to live. Live your life as We lived Ours.
There are so many distractions in this world. Be totally lost in the life of Jesus and Mary when you pray the rosary.
Our Lady's Formula to Attack and Advance Against Darkness:

We are in an awful state that empasses the culture, the family, and the individual. Corruption is rampant throughout the world. In the United States, the government just passed a health care law by unprecedented illicit force that will lead to blatant abortion, the overriding of one’s conscience, euthanasia, the practice of choosing who will receive care according to the value of dollars spent related to healthy age vs. old age, chronic sickness, being handicapped, etc.
Many Christians, Christian organizations, the U.S. Bishops Conference all opposed this heinous new law. But what are we to do? The dark road we are going down shows no prospect of a light at the end of the tunnel. Our Lady has taught us, we are the ones responsible, for it is we as Christians who have contributed to setting the stage of so much darkness that has accumulated in the world. Our Lady gives specific instructions on how to once again find joy in the midst of the accumulation of evil that is destroying the culture. Our Lady said:

“…I beseech you, surrender to the Lord your entire past, all the evil that has accumulated in your hearts…Therefore… pray, and in prayer you shall realize a new way of joy. Joy will manifest in your hearts and thus you shall be joyful witnesses…”
You are given the formula to attack and advance against darkness. It begins with you. Tonight kneel in a quiet place, settling your heart. Look at your past. Look how you’ve contributed to the growing darkness. Examine yourself without pretense, but with a real state of reality. Enter deep into prayer and pray.
“I surrender to you, Lord, my entire past and all the evil that has accumulated in my heart. Make me happy and to realize a new way of joy, and for this joy to manifest in my heart. Amen.”
Pray many Rosaries per day, 6, 8, even 10 mysteries, and repeat Our Lady’s formula at the end of the day for the change of yourself. Because it is you who make up the culture and, thereby, the world. This is Our Lady’s plan. This is the means and the power to change things.

This was taken at the baptism of Valentino Mora, son of Erica, a single mom of 21 who asked the photographer to take a picture of her son for free.The photo of the baptism of Valentino Mora is sweeping the Internet, because at the time the priest pours the Holy water over his head, the water flows in the shape of a rosary (see photo above).This story began at the Parish of the Assumption of Our Lady in Cordova , Spain , where the baptism of a one month baby took place. At the time that Valentino came to the baptismal font for the sacrament of baptism, Erica asked the photographer Maria Silvana Salles, who was hired by other parents baptizing their babies, to take a photo of her son as a favor, since the young mother had no way of paying for it. The photographer, moved by Erica's request, agreed to take a photo of Valentino.Maria Silvana works with a traditional camera and had to send the film to be developed to a shop in Cordova. When she received the photos, she noticed with surprise that the water poured from the head of Valentino was a perfect rosary.The photo of the baptism of Valentino has awakened faith in the people of Cordova who come to the humble home of Erica and Valentino Mora to touch him.The truth is that this sign of faith has mobilized this town in Cordova, whose neighbors go to Maria Silvana's store to buy the picture as if it were a prayer card.

Papal Nuncio in Bosnia-Hercegovina says Pope has been favorable on Medjugorje
STATEMENT OF APOSTOLIC NUNCIO TO BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA ABOUT INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION FOR MEDJUGORJE
That is why he wanted to establish this Commission that is on really high level. He wanted to establish this Commission in order for him to have broad picture about this matter, but according to the people who have highest qualities and skills. That is why he invited Cardinals, Bishops and experts from different parts of the world to be part of this Commission. On March 17th it was officially announced that Chairman of this Commission is going to be Cardinal Ruini, very prestigious cardinal, who has great qualities, and also close associate to Holy Father, and his friend not only in this period while he is the pope. Cardinal Ruini is very much familiar with situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina; he especially knows the situation from the war period, when he used to be President of Bishop’s Conference of Italy. At that time, he brought decision that Italian Church and Bishop’s Conference of Italy become more involved in helping to all wounded nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
What is especially interesting, and shows Holy Father’s great sympathy for this country, is that he wanted this information about Commission to be announced publicly at the same time, both in Vatican as well as in Mostar, since Medjugorje is in territory of Mostar Diocese. I know well that media spoke a lot about this Commission for a longer period of time, and certain expectations were made. Today, we can say that we are pleased and grateful to Holy Father for this attention that he expressed towards Mostar and our Catholic communities. Great is the responsibility of members of M.I.M. if they do not radiate this presence of the Immaculate, especially if they hide or disfigure it. The Immaculate is the light and "the light is not placed under the bushel, but upon the lampstand so as to give light to all" (Mt 5, 15). The Immaculate is the light through the testimony to her virtues practiced by those consecrated to Her, through the good example of a life edifying and fruitful in the apostolate of each member of M.I.M.

The Rosary
Messenger: The rosary tells us much about Christ and Mary.
How can I be Christ-like if I do not meditate on His Life? My life is to be a model after Christ's life. How can I model myself after how He loved if I am not intimately involved in a love relationship with Him?
Christ shows us the way. Jesus went through His Passion and death for our salvation and for love of us.
The more I meditate on the rosary, the more I see the oneness of Christ and His Mother. They are one in Their Hearts. They shared each Other's pains, sorrows, joys, suffering. They were so connected to each Other.
This is shown all through the Passion, her sorrows, presentation in the temple, finding in the temple, her journey into Egypt, her watching during the scourging, her journey during the Passion when Their eyes met, (this alone could be meditated on to tell Their union and suffering) putting the nails in His hands, standing under the cross, beholding His lifeless body under the cross, and after His death, laying Him in the tomb.
Their Hearts beat as one, as she suffered so silently with Him, always by His side. No mother was ever so connected with her Son.
Sorrow increases intimacy. When I suffer and give it to Christ, I am admitting how much He is truly a Person I depend on. I want to depend on Him, to be so intimate that it is He to Whom I run when my heart is torn.
He loves us so, He knows our every thought and feeling. He loves us with such attentiveness and care, and He waits for us to run to His arms and share ourselves with Him.
He longs for our love, He longs for our time. He wants us to go to Him as our best Friend, a real Person, but what a Person and what He can do for us!
You are my Savior Lord, You saved me from my sins by Your brutal death. You give me life in Your Resurrection. I am born into Your life in Baptism and You live in my heart. God lives within me. Father, Son and Holy Spirit dwell within my breast in a most special way when I am in the state of grace. Mary is one with Jesus.
Oh, God, I love You so. I want to know You and love You and serve You.
Spirit, open me to know my precious Lord. I am Yours to possess and I live to do Your holy will.
Father, fashion me, mold me more into the image of Jesus, Your precious Son. "...yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me...(Ga 2:20). I want to be one in You, so that You live and dwell in my heart.
Meditating on the rosary is meditating on much of Christ's Life. How can I be molded more into His image if I do not meditate on Him and His Life?
The First Commandment commands that I love God above all things. What is love? Is it lip service or is it a fire that burns within the soul?
May my love of God be this flame that burns for love of each Person in God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit and for Mary also. May I grow in intimacy with each Person and Mary, and may Joseph be close by her side as he stood close to Jesus and guarded Him.
