Letting God IN!! (c)Mary TV 2013 J.M.J November 20, 2014 Dear Family of Mary! On Facebook some people post pictures and stories from their past on Thursdays. They call it "Throwback Thursday". Well here is a message from 1989, a blessing from the early days of Medjugorje. May 25, 1989 "Dear children! I invite you now to be open to God. See, children, how nature is opening herself and is giving life and fruits. In the same way I invite you to live with God and to surrender completely to him. Children, I am with you and I want to introduce you continuously to the joy of life. I desire that everyone may discover the joy and love which can be found only in God and which only God can give. God doesn't want anything from you only your surrender. Therefore, children, decide seriously for God because everything else passes away. Only God doesn't pass away. Pray to be able to discover the greatness and joy of life which God gives you. Thank you for having responded to my call." Who can resist this message? Our Lady offers us such joy and hope! But she points out that we must "open to God" if we are to receive that joy and hope from Him. She compares our souls to nature. Just as nature opens to the sun, to the warmth of spring, so our souls need to open to the Light of God and the warmth of His love, if we are to bear fruit. "I invite you to open to God." This invitation suggests that somehow we must resist opening to God. Why do we clam up when God comes around? What could possible keep us from wanting to open our souls to Him? There are many reasons. We may not know He is interested in us. We may not understand that He wants to have a relationship with us. He may seem to be the disinterested clock maker who winds us up and stands back to watch us tick. Or we may be afraid to open up to God. Maybe He is angry with us. Maybe He wants to chastise us, correct us, and punish us? Maybe we distrust Him. Is He really as good and merciful as we are told? Maybe we have wounds that make us unable to open up to God. Maybe we have been shamed, betrayed, rejected, abused, abandoned, or mocked. We have decided we will never open up to anyone again, including God. We want to stay hidden safely inside, untouched and unharmed. Maybe we can't forgive ourselves, or others, or even God. Maybe we are holding a grudge that keeps the doors of our soul tightly locked. Or maybe we just don't want to be bothered. We have control of our life right now, and we don't want to let go of that control. Our Lady has called us to open to God in many messages, so it must be true that we have trouble doing so. For many reasons we stay locked inside. But if we remain locked within, we will not grow, we will not bear fruit, we will become empty of true life. We cannot give ourselves life. Only God can give us true life that flourishes. And so Our Lady tells us, "...I invite you to live with God and to surrender completely to him". She wants us to live with God, and to trust Him so much that we give everything over to Him, to His care and yes, His control! How foreign this is to most of us. We have been hurt too many times by others who have come into our lives and used us poorly. So trusting God is not easy.    And so she tells us: "Children, I am with you and I want to introduce you continuously to the joy of life. I desire that everyone may discover the joy and love which can be found only in God and which only God can give. God doesn't want anything from you only your surrender. Therefore, children, decide seriously for God because everything else passes away. Only God doesn't pass away. Pray to be able to discover the greatness and joy of life which God gives you." Our Lady is with us to help us let God into our lives. This is the only life worth living, the life with God. This is the life that will continue into eternity. This is the life that has no limit to joy and love and all that is good. He will not hurt us, He only wants to love us. But we have to trust Him and let Him come in. May we accept Our Lady's invitation to the continuous joy of living, by letting Our God into our hearts, inviting Him in without fear, and letting Him touch us!! All He needs is our surrender! The Visionary Ivan Dragicevic shared what he has learned from Our Lady over the past 33 years in a talk given at St. Stephen's Cathedral on November 15, 2014, at the Evening of prayer for peace. It was a talk filled with exuberant love for Our Lady. You can see that love on Ivan's face, as he shares the beautiful things Our Lady has said to him over the years. It seems that Ivan's words and Our Lady's words just flow in and out of each other, like two streams of joy coming from the Father's heart. I always learn something new from Ivan. Here is the transcript of his talk! Ivan Dragicevic speaks at St. Stephens Cathedral, Vienna, on November 15, 2014:  Praised be Jesus and Mary! Your Eminence, Cardinal Schönborn, my dear priests, my dear friends in Christ...At the beginning of this meeting I would like to greet you from the bottom of my heart and I am really joyful to be here today, to be able to share with you the most important things that Our Lady has given in the last 33 years. One of the first messages that Our Lady gave us at the beginning of the apparitions is "Dear children, I am coming to you because I want to tell you that God does exist. Decide for God. Put God in the first place in your lives. Put God in your families in the first place, and together with Him walk towards the future. Leave the transience of this world, and let God be in the first place." Out of these words you can see what is the greatest desire for Our Lady. God has to be in the first place. I know that many of you who are here today, have come here tired. Tired of this world. Of the way of life that has been put upon us. Many of you have come, hungry. Hungry for peace. Hungry for love. And most of all, hungry for God. We have come here to have rest in Him. We have come here to find peace in God. Because He is our peace. Because He is our joy. He is our life. For the last 33 years Our Lady has been guiding us. She leads us to Jesus. She is leading us to the source. Our Lady wants to tell us "Come to me all of you who are burdened and tired, I will give you rest. I will give you the strength." Mother prays for us. She carries us all in her heart. She is interceding for each one of us to her Son. In one of her messages she said, "Dear children, if you knew how much I love you, you would cry for joy!" That is how great the love of our Mother is. We are in her school. In the school of love. In the school of prayer. She is teaching us, she is the Mother/Teacher. She is leading us in her pasture. She says in one of her messages, "Dear children, my Son has allowed me to stay so long with you, because He wants me to lead you. Because I want to help you, to show you all what is not good for you." Isn't this world that we live in today at a crossroad? When I say crossroad I am thinking in the first place will we take the way of secularity? Or will we go on the way of encounter with God? Our Lady is leading us on that way. She wants us to decide for God. She is giving us her motherly hand and she wants to lead us on the way of hope. She wants to bring hope to today's world that has no hope. Hope to the family. Hope to young people. Hope to the Church. She wants to tell us "Dear children, this world has a future, but under one condition, you have to turn back to God. You have to return to God. You have to go back to the source. Dear children, today's world cannot give you peace. The peace that today's world gives you, you will be sorely disappointed in. The only peace is in God. Open to the gift of peace. Pray for the gift of peace. For your own sake." My dear friends, for the last 33 years, in the school of the Mother, in the school of love, this is a great, great gift. A great gift but also a great responsibility. Our Lady is teaching us. She is giving us the messages. She wants us to accept the messages and to live them.   What are the most important messages that Our Lady invites us to. I would like especially to separate the most important messages: peace, conversion, to pray with the heart, penance, fasting, firm faith, love, forgiveness, Eucharist, the reading of Holy Scripture, monthly confession and the message of hope. So you see that through these messages Our Lady has been leading us. At the beginning of the apparitions, in 1981, Our Lady introduced herself, "I am the Queen of Peace. I am coming, dear children, because my Son is sending me to help you. Peace, peace, peace! Peace must reign between God and man and between all men. My children this world is in danger of self-destruction. Your Mother is coming from the King of Peace. Who can know better than a mother, how much peace is needed for today's tired mankind. How much peace for today's families, for today's young people. How much peace in man's heart. If man has no peace with himself, if there is no peace in the family, then there cannot be peace in the world. Therefore dear children, open yourselves for the gift of peace. Pray for the gift of peace." Mother is coming to us, she comes as the mother of the Church. She wants to strengthen us. She wants to give us power. She wants to wake us up in our faith. And she says, "Dear children, if you are strong, the Church will be strong. If you are weak the Church will be weak as well. You are my living church. You are the lungs of my church. That is why I am inviting you to bring prayer in the family. May each family become a chapel where there is prayer. Dear children there is no living Church without living families." Today's family is bleeding. We cannot accept that today's world and society is healed if the family is not healed. Today's family is spiritually sick. And the mother is coming to us and bringing to us a divine cure, a cure to us in our pain. She wants to cure our wounds. She wants to bind our wounds with so much love, with so much tenderness and motherly warmth. She wants to lead us to her Son. He is our peace. In one of her messages Our Lady says, "Dear children, today more than ever, mankind and the world is passing through a most difficult crisis. And the biggest crisis today is in faith in God, because you have distanced yourselves from God, from prayer. Dear children, today's world is walking towards the future without God." Today's world is not in an economic recession. Today's world and mankind are in a spiritual recession, because every spiritual recession generates all the other recessions. And the Mother is coming to us. She is inviting us so much to prayer. Today prayer has disappeared from families. In a special way Our Lady is inviting all families to renew family prayer. Today there is not time in the families for one another. Parents don't have time for children, children don't have time for parents. Fathers don't have time for mothers. Mothers don't have time for fathers. There is no fidelity in marriages. The morality is falling apart. So many broken and tired families. Love has disappeared from our families. And the Mother is inviting us to turn back to prayer. To start praying, and in that way the family would be healed. Many times today we ask ourselves, many ask the question, "Why is Our Lady coming for so long?" Our Lady is coming so long, she has spoken so much, she has repeated, and nothing new..." Yes, Mother repeats. Every mother needs to repeat. Mother needs to repeat in order that the children do not forget. There is not a mother in the world who has said one thing and not had to repeat it again. Every mother has to repeat. It is the same with Our Lady towards us. But many people say "But we have the Bible, we have the Sacraments, we have the Church...Why is Our Lady coming so long?" Yes, we do have the Bible, we do have the Sacraments, but Our Lady is asking us, "Dear children, all that you have, do you live it?" Our Lady is inviting us to start living all that we have. And Our Lady says, "Dear children, No do not talk about peace, start living peace. Do not talk about prayer, start living prayer. Dear children speak less and act more." In that way we will change the world. So we will start to change our families. Our Lady didn't come to us to bring us fear, or to punish us, or to tell us about the end of the world. Our Lady didn't come to talk to us about the Second Coming of Jesus. She is coming to us as the Mother of Hope. And in a special way Our Lady is inviting us to Holy Mass, as the center of our life. During one apparition Our Lady said to us six visionaries, "Dear children, if you would have to decide tomorrow whether to come to me and meet with me or go to Holy Mass, no, do not come to me. Go to Holy Mass. Going to Holy Mass means to go to be with Jesus who is surrendering Himself in the Holy Mass. To encounter Jesus in Holy Mass, and to receive Him. Our Lady is inviting us to confession, to adoration of the Holy Cross. In a special way Our Lady is inviting the priests to start organizing Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in their parishes. Our Lady is inviting us to the prayer of the Rosary in our families, to the reading of Holy Scripture in our families, and in one of her messages she said, "Dear children, let the Bible be in a visible place in your families. Read the Holy Scripture, that by reading the Holy Scripture Jesus may be reborn in your hearts." Forgive each other, love each other. Our Lady is inviting us so much to forgiveness. To forgive yourself. To forgive others. In that way to open the way for the Holy Spirit to come to our hearts. Without forgiving others, we cannot be healed, not physically, not spiritually, and not emotionally. We have to know how to forgive. But that our forgiveness would become holy, that our forgiveness would be complete, Our Lady is inviting to pray with the heart. So many times Our Lady has said, "Pray, pray, pray, my dear children. Not to pray with the lips. Not to pray and then to look at the clock to see when prayer will be over. To pray with the heart means to make time for God. To pray with the heart means to pray out of love and with love. To pray with our entire being." That our prayer becomes an encounter with Jesus. That our prayer becomes joy. So that we leave the prayer with our heart full of joy and love. "May prayer become joy for you," Our Lady said. "Dear children, the one who prays has no fear of the future." And Our Lady said, "Dear children if you want to attend the school of prayer, then you need to know that in the school of prayer there are no weekends and no free days. Every day we need to attend the school of prayer. Dear children, if you want to pray better, then you always have to pray more. To pray more is always a personal decision, but to pray better is grace, a grace given to those who pray more." Many times we do say, I don't have time for prayer. But Our Lady says, "No, dear children, the time is not the problem, the problem is love. Because dear children, when man loves something there is always time for it. But if he doesn't love something, there is never time for it." So you can see that if we love prayer we will have time for it. And Our Lady is leading us with that love. She is waking us up for all these years from spiritual death. She wants to strengthen us in our faith and prayer. Let us hear the message Our Lady has given in the last month. October 25, 2014 "Dear children! Pray in this time of grace and seek the intercession of all the saints who are already in the light. From day to day may they be an example and encouragement to you on the way of your conversion. Little children, be aware that your life is short and passing. Therefore, yearn for eternity and keep preparing your hearts in prayer. I am with you and intercede before my Son for each of you, especially for those who have consecrated themselves to me and to my Son.   Thank you for having responded to my call." I hope we will respond to Our Lady's call. That we will become co-creators of a better world and that we will pray for Our Lady's plans for the world. I hope that all of us here have planted a good seed. I hope that that seed will fall on good ground and bear good fruit. Therefore let us be responsible and let us responsibly accept all that our Lady invites us to. Let us pray together for the evangelization of today's world and families. Let us pray together with her for vocations in the Church. Let us all become today a living sign. Let us not search for visible signs, to see or feel something and so say, I saw so I believe. Our Lady is asking for all of us today to become living signs, signs of living faith. My dear children, let it be so. Thank you. Thank you, dear Ivan, for being Our Lady's faithful witness for 33 years and counting! We are so grateful to you for sharing Our Lady's words with us, and for communicating to us the great love and beauty of Our Lady. She is the star we are following, with your help! Immediately after the apparition that Ivan received in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna on November 15, 2014, Ivan was invited to share about his encounter with Our Lady. Here is what Ivan shared: After every encounter with Our Lady it is very hard to speak. It is not easy after an encounter with Our Lady to return to this world, to the reality of this world. It is hard to find so beautiful words in this world to be able to describe the beauty of the encounter with Our Lady. It is true that every day when Our Lady comes to us she brings to us a piece of heaven. What is the most difficult for me to describe in the encounter with Our Lady is the love with which Our Lady loves us all. So with the words that I have I would like to share with you what is most important in the encounter this evening. Also today Our Lady came to us joyful and happy. She greeted us all with her motherly greeting: "Praised be Jesus, My dear children." After that she extended her hands and prayed in a special way over all you priests who are present here. After that Our Lady prayed in a special way for this diocese. After that Our Lady prayed over all of you here who are sick and she said, "Dear children also today I would like to invite you to pray for families and young people. Dear children, pray for the holiness within the family. Mother is praying together with you. And is interceding for all of you before her Son. Thank you my dear children for having responded to my call." After that our Lady blessed all of us with her motherly blessing and blessed all of those articles that you brought her for blessing. After that I recommended all of you to Our Lady, all of your needs, all of your desires. All of your families. In a special way I have recommended all of the sick to Our Lady. After that there was a conversation between me and Our Lady that stays only between us, between me and Our Lady. And after that Our Lady left in the light of the Cross with the greeting, "Go in peace my dear children." So this is the most important out of tonight's encounter with Our Lady. Now I would like to emphasize that Our Lady spent much time tonight speaking about holiness in families. We need to pray for that and for the young people. Two days ago Our Lady gave a message through me to the world. Let us listen to the message that Our Lady gave. "Dear children, also today I am inviting you to pray. My dear children, pray in a special way for all who still do not know God's love. Pray that their hearts open to my Son and to the Heart of my Son. Only in that way is it possible to convert. Thank you my dear children that you have responded to my call."  (November 13, 2014 through Ivan) So that is the most important of my encounter with Our Lady and I hope that we will all open to Our Lady's call and we will start to pray more. In a special way to start to pray more in our families. And that you will all say that big "yes" to Our Lady! Thank you! What a joy it was to be present (through the internet) for Our Lady's apparition to Ivan in St. Stephen's. I felt so much the presence of Our Lady that day. Let's respond to Our Lady's call through Ivan to pray for holiness in families and to pray for all those who do not know the love of Jesus. Together we can make a difference, as we follow our Mother. Dear Family of Mary!

On Saturday, November 15, Cardinal Schönborn hosted a powerful Evening of Prayer for Peace in the famous St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. This Evening or Prayer was sponsored by the prayer group in Vienna that has existed for many years, dedicated to Our Lady of Medjugorje. There were testimonies of graces received through Our Lady of Medjugorje, Ivan Dragicevic shared about his ongoing apparitions and messages from Our Lady of Medjugorje, Our Lady came for her apparition to Ivan at about 6:40 pm, and then Cardinal Schönborn offered Holy Mass and a powerful Eucharistic Adoration service. Throughout the evening a beautiful choir led by Roland and Melinda from Medjugorje sang recognizable hymns from Medjugorje. Truly, one felt totally connected to Medjugorje. It was a blessing born out of Our Lady's presence in Medjugorje!

I have transcribed the English translation of Cardinal Schönborn's homily, because it is so anointed. There is much to pray over in this homily. My thanks to our translator, who worked very hard all evening to help us English speaking viewers to enjoy every word spoken in the cathedral. She did a great job, and I believe the main thoughts of the homily were presented.

Tomorrow I hope to have an accurate account of Ivan's apparition and message to present to you.

Cardinal Schönborn, Holy Mass, November 15, 2014, St. Stephen's Cathedral, Vienna:

(The Gospel was Matthew 25: 14-30, the Master and the talents)

It is always, every time, a great moment for the Dom, for all the Church of Vienna, when we gather here for this prayer meeting. And it is very seldom that the Dom is so full! And the faithful stay a long time inside of the Dom, especially for Holy Mass, and that is a big sign of thanks.

Here before us is Our Lady who points to her Son. And she is saying to all of us, "Do whatever He tells you." He "tells us" in the Gospel which is His word, and when we hear the Gospel, it is not just a voice from the past, it is a voice that is speaking to us now.

God speaks to us as a Father to His children. And that is why I am inviting you that we open our hearts and we pray to the Holy Spirit so that the words of Jesus in the Gospel we will hear personally. We need to hear what Jesus says to us personally through the Gospel, Him to you.

In this Gospel (Mt. 25: 14-30) there are three words for us: trust, variety, responsibility. That is what the Cardinal is saying...the way he heard the Gospel with the three words. From the Gospel, we have heard that the master has given his whole wealth to his servants and he has trusted his servants and has given all his property to them. Eight talents! One talent was 36 kilograms of silver! So eight talents is a big fortune.

The first word I heard from this Gospel is that our God is a God of trust. God trusts us, He trusts mankind. He should have said, I know you and I know your weaknesses. I know you are simply poor sinners. So I can't trust you. But He has great trust in us. And there is something special about this trust. A person blossoms when someone has trust in him, like in the family, when the children have trust in their parents or parents have trust in the children.

I see many children here and I would like to give a very warm welcome to all the children here. (Applause) I see Reinhardt here with his daughter, and she trusts her father! Why do children trust their parents? Later when they become teens it becomes harder, but they live out of trust. Psychologists speak about the root of trust. God trusts in us.

God trusts us, He has put everything in our hands. The Father gave everything to Jesus. And Jesus says that the same way that the Father has given to Me his wealth, I will give it to you. Because the Father gave Jesus everything and in the same way Jesus wants to give it to us. And here we can see that God trusts us.

In God's eyes, we are really worthy, otherwise He would not have such trust in us. This is the first thing I heard in the Gospel. And Jesus says to us, I gave you all that is precious to me. We have received that treasure, which is the treasure of the faith. The treasure of grace. It was entrusted to us. If He entrusts all this to us, then He expects us to do something with it. He is giving it to us not to bury it, but to do something with it.

And the second word of this Gospel is that the master divided it up differently. This is the variety.   God gives to each of us in different ways. Today we hear so often "discrimination or nondiscrimination". And we cannot discriminate. According to race, gender, age, because all people have the same dignity and value. But in spite of this, we have many differences. In the first reading we heard about a working woman, and that a woman is not a man and a man is not a woman. God wanted that difference. New ideologies say that this difference was made by mankind, but that is not the truth. And it is beautiful the way God has given differently to people. I find it very nice when a person is playing the violin, because I am not capable of playing the violin. That is a talent. I would starve of hunger if I would have to make my own meals! And every day I am wondering and I am impressed by the beautiful food I get to eat. Catherine of Sienna said that God said to her that He wanted big differences between persons, so that no one could say "I is enough for me". Love needs the other. God wants this variety. Our Lady speaks many times of the family. The family is the beginning cell of society and provides variety in the community.

And the third is responsibility. When God is giving us so many talents, then we have also a responsibility for all these talents that He is giving us. And I believe that this is closely connected with trust. Because someone trusts me, in that way I am responsible to that person for the trust he has in me. God trusts us so much, so we shouldn't let Him down.

The third word in the Gospel communicates some fear of God, from the strict master. The responsibility is an answer to the trust. I can remember when I was a child how important it was to me when my uncle trusted me with some money, 500 schillings. I was then 14 years old. At that time it was a lot of money. Therefore I had a responsibility towards my uncle.

My dear brothers and sisters, God entrusts us with His fortune. He entrusts us with talents. And what are we doing with them? God is giving us courage, so we do not have fear in taking responsibility for the talents that we have been given. We have responsibility for each other and for the great faith that was entrusted to us. The same with Jesus and His disciples. He wouldn't have sent them out into the world if He didn't trust them. He entrusted to them the Gospel. And we have to take responsibility for our actions.

Oh Lord, what have I done with the talents you have entrusted to me? Was I living the faith and spreading it further to others? Have I answered the trust you gave to me in a worthy way? We should be joyful and say to the Lord, "You trusted me with 5 talents and I gave them to 5 others, so I have gained 5 others." Can we say that? I believe we can.

We need to believe that God is entrusting us and has trust in us. St. Paul said at the end of his life, I kept my faith, I ran the race. So let us pray to Our Lady, the Mother of God - Holy Mary pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

The Cardinal is such a good and kind teacher. His words to us are encouraging and sobering. I believe that Our Lady wants us to be good servants. We have received so much from Our Lady of Medjugorje. How can we invest what she has given to us? How can we report back to her that we have increased her gifts? There are very many ways. We can live her messages. And we can spread the word of her coming to Medjugorje. Millions of people still do not know of her coming. Sharing this good news to even one new person each day could be enough of an investment. The whole world needs to know about Medjugorje. It is God's providence for this difficult age. So many souls need this good news.
