CHAPTER XLI: TWO HEARTS OF WIT & WISDOM

Once upon a time there was this gentleman of leisure. He just loved to sleep-in Sunday mornings. Saturday evenings he had to do his thing--he was too busy--to attend Mass.
One day, this fine gentleman of leisure said to his pastor, as Father way-laid him on the street, accidently on purpose:
"You see, Father it's this way--what I believe in is to go into the woods--and commune with God, where you find that wonderful fresh air, the birds are singing, that's the Spirit of God right there."
The pastor was silent--listening--finally Father said:
"So that's why you don't go to 'church' on Sundays. Now tell me the truth--be honest--when was it, the last time you went out into the woods (if you could find any woods within 50 miles from this big city) and communed with God?"
The gentleman of leisure started to laugh and remarked:
"I see what you mean Father. Yes a fellow thinks he'll do it, go out into the woods and do his thing--but he won't, the devil won't let him! In theory it sounds good--but in practice--no show!"
The Padre came back with:
"Tomorrow, tomorrow . . . "Procrastination--is the favorite pastime--copout--cop-out!"
