Our Lady visits Purgatory

ALL SOULS DAY

All Souls Day is when the Church remembers and especially prays for all the souls who are in Purgatory, a real place of expiation of sins and preparation for entrance into Heaven, where we will be all together (All Saints) to give glory and praise to Almighty God for all eternity. Christ said "we must love our neighbor as ourselves," so in Christian Charity we offer prayers (especially the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Holy Rosary, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, etc., etc.) for their prompt release from their sufferings. The Poor Souls can't help themselves, for their time of trial and merit was on earth, but we can assist them in our spiritual journey to Heaven. They in turn, will pray for us and their prayer is very efficacious! "It is a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from their sins" (2 Mach. 12:46), so we are obligated to pray for our parents, friends, enemies and anyone we may have caused grief or misled while they lived on earth. Our Lady, Mother Mary, often visits the poor souls and offers to them her love and solace. Especially on Christmas Day, She assists many souls to be released and to fly to Heaven in Her arms. (Medjugorje Message)

I especially pray each day for those souls who have no one to pray for them! I thinking about souls who come from different traditions who don't believe in Purgatory or an afterlife. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace. Amen.
