THIS past year, when I would pray in the Spirit, a word would often and suddenly rise to my lips: "esperanza." I just learned that this is a Hispanic word meaning "hope."

Forsake Me Not When My Strength Is Spent

In you, O Lord, do I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame!
In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;
incline your ear to me, and save me!

you have given the command to save me,
