[MaryVitamin] Tuesday of Holy Week

Mary Vitamin For Tuesday of Holy Week

Topic Suffering for Love

Quote:

The angels rendered homage to their God; they wished to unbind Him, but to this He would not consent, wishing to suffer still more; but He bade them console His afflicted Mother.

Ven. Mary of AgredaThe Divine Life of the Most Holy Virgin, (Tan Books), 169.

Meditation:

During the Passion, Our Lord accepts no consolation. If we imitate the Lord in mortification and humiliations, St. Claude de La Colombiere notices that "we sometimes become depressed and less ready to serve God. This is a temptation which we can conquer by thinking that God only asks these things of us through love." The Spiritual Direction of Saint Claude De La Colombiere, (Ignatius Press), 87.

St. Maximilian reminds us  suffering for love nourishes love.

Resolution:

When my thoughts turn to myself and I look for consolation and none can be found, I will follow the instructions given by Christ to the angels. I will not think of consolation for myself, rather I will turn my thoughts to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Marian Vow:

St. Maximilian Kolbe

If God visits us with a painful suffering and our soul walks the thorny path, it behooves us to rejoice that God destines us for high perfection.

Aim Higher! (Marytown Press: 2008), 114.

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.
