With the beginning of a new year, I thought I'd give an update about Totus2us ... so here goes:
Totus2us has wanted to give voice to the faith, hope and love that's all around the world, especially among JPII's and BXVI's "dear young people", to highlight what's good and fun, and to help us to pray and to be not afraid. And with everyone's help, this is just what has been possible in 2010: there are now voices from 68 countries from around the world on Totus2us's 22 podcasts. All free, all with music, most episodes are under 5 minutes & the podcasts fall broadly into 3 areas:
prayer (faith / way), teaching (hope / truth) & witness (love / life).
There's Something about Mary, Word on the Street, Man for Others, In Memory of Me, JP2 We Love You & Papa Bene We Love You too, TOP CHAT, Does God have a sense of humour & The Real Christmas. Then there's Talks 2us, 3 2us, Catholic Catechism, & Sunday Evangelium. The prayer podcasts are the Rosary (in 4 languages), the Stations of the Cross, Novenas (7 so far) & Jesus I trust in you (the Divine Mercy chaplet is in 10 languages).
30,000 mp3 downloads were made in December alone, almost 1/4 million downloads last year (& these stats don't include streaming on itunes). This seems like a little miracle considering this has all been done pretty much without a penny (eg not a cent has been spent on publicity/advertising etc). It sure is a great example of things happening on 'a wing and a prayer'.
In trying to discern quite what the way ahead will be, as Totus2us is dedicated to Our Mother Mary, the main prayer is that Totus2us will always be all hers.
Any help you might be able to give to help Totus2us going & growing would be hugely appreciated, eg
- forward this email on to your friends
- give a response to one of Totus2us's podcasts
- ask your parish priest to include info about Totus2us in the parish newsletter
- write a review for 1 of the podcasts on itunes
- mention it to a friend who you think might be able to make a financial contribution or make a little donation yourself (please contact me if you have any bright ideas about any organisations you think might be able to help)
- and, most importantly, keep Totus2us in your prayers.
Wishing you a very blessed, gracefilled 2011,
Ruth

3 2us on the Feast of the Epiphany by Fr Javier Igea -
"The best gift that we can give is the gift of ourselves. The best gift is not a material thing but it is our heart and It is what we truly celebrate in the Feast of the Epiphany: God has given himself to us, God has given our heart to us in the Incarnate Word, the baby Jesus, which is given to humanity. The invisible God has made himself visible in the flesh of Christ."

Please no anonymous comments. I require at least some way for people to address each other personally and courteously. Having some name or handle helps.
