+ J.M.J. October 17, 2012 Dear Family of Mary! "Dear children! Also today I call you to pray for peace. Pray with the heart, little children, and do not lose hope because God loves His creatures. He desires to save you, one by one, through my coming here. I call you to the way of holiness. Pray, and in prayer you are open to God's will; in this way, in everything you do, you realize God's plan in you and through you. Thank you for having responded to my call." (March 25, 2003) Our Lady couldn't be more clear in this message. God loves His creatures! And in that love He has sent Our Lady to Medjugorje, the place where she can save us, one by one. One by one, she reaches into our lives and draws us into the safety of her embrace. She helps us to find God's plan for our lives, and gives us the graces to realize it. It is in Medjugorje and through it, that God is working His plan for salvation in these days. Fr. Scallon was asked in the interview from Fruit of Medjugorje, Episode 26, whether he would advise other priests to go to Medjugorje. Here is his response: (Would you encourage people to invite their priests to Medjugorje?) I sure would. I think that Medjugorje is a place of great spiritual renewal, as the Holy Father has said. It was for me and remains to be for me. I know it has been in the lives of many, many priests. I would say if you are having a hard time, if you feel the burden of the heat of the day, go to Medjugorje and be refreshed by Our Lady. Go to Medjugorje and let Our Lady minister to you herself! She'll do it. I remember listening to a priest who was explaining about talking to other priests about Medjugorje. This priest would take plane loads of kids to Medjugorje. One day he was talking to other priests and someone asked him what will happen if the commission comes back and says that this whole thing is false? This priest said, "Well I don't know about that. But if you can tell me of some other place where I can bring a jumbo jet load of young people who don't pray, never go to Confession, who seldom go to Mass, and who, on their return from this place, say the 15 decades of the Rosary every day, go to Mass every day, and can't stop talking about Jesus. If you can show me another place where that happens, I'll take them there, but in the meantime I'm going to take them to Medjugorje!" You know the problem we have today is that there is such a cynicism. There is such a degree of skepticism, especially in the print and television media. The first reaction when people hear of Medjugorje is that there is nothing to it, they ridicule it. When I hear that Our Lady is appearing somewhere, I always say, Lord I hope it's true. I hope it's true. I would never say, Lord I hope it isn't happening because people will be led astray. I say I hope it is true because if it is, great blessings will come from it. I think there has been far too much skepticism and cynicism at every level in the Church. What is more traditional in the Church than that Our Lady has appeared? Does anyone deny that she has appeared in Fatima, in Lourdes, to St. Simon Stock or at the Rue du Bac, giving the Miraculous Medal to St. Catherine Laboure? Nobody. So we shouldn't be surprised that she is in Medjugorje. I am delighted that she is there. I am going to go there and see her and talk to her as much as I possibly can!! (Fr. Kevin Scallon. Fruit of Medjugorje, Episode 26) You said it, Fr. Scallon! Where else in the world is there such grace for conversion, for healing, and for renewal? Where else is there such intense prayer going on, day in and day out? Yes, we should send our priests there. And our young people. And everyone else as well! Thank you, Lord, for Medjugorje!
