+ J.M.J. October 18, 2012 Saint Luke Dear Family of Mary! "Dear children: I am calling you and I am coming among you because I need you. I need apostles with a pure heart. I am praying, and you should also pray, that the Holy Spirit may enable and lead you, that He may illuminate you and fill you with love and humility. Pray that He may fill you with grace and mercy. Only then will you understand me, my children. Only then will you understand my pain because of those who have not come to know the love of God. Then you will be able to help me. You will be my light-bearers of God's love. You will illuminate the way for those who have been given eyes but do not want to see. I desire for all of my children to see my Son. I desire for all of my children to experience His Kingdom. Again I call you and implore you to pray for those whom my Son has called. Thank you." (October 2, 2012) Every time I read this message I learn something else! Our Lady teaches so much with a few words! She tells us to pray to the Holy Spirit that "He may fill you with grace and mercy." Oh how we need mercy. Our sins are heavy, they weigh us down, and they are hard to be free of. Only the incredible mercy of God can sever the ties we have with our sinfulness. But in Medjugorje it seems to happen with power. Here is a short witness from Gloria, who just got home to South Africa from Medjugorje. She was present at Mirjana's apparition on October 2, when this message was given. And she experienced the mercy of God in a powerful way during her pilgrimage. She gave me permission to share her story, and I am so happy she did! Gloria shares: Dear Cathy I hope you and your family are in the best of health. I got back to South Africa on the 10th October 2012. I actually saw Denis at St James Church.. We did the peace sign together. On another occasion the English pilgrims were stuck in church, after the 10am mass, after a terrible storm. We tried to get out, but [the doors were blocked]. Denis came to my rescue and showed me the best door to go out through. I really am grateful. I felt like I was going to be trampled. I am only 4ft tall. I was there for Our Lady's Apparition. I cannot explain the feeling I had inside of me! When I heard the thunder and Our Lady came! It was like a bolt going through my heart. She left and then thunder again...it's a time in my life I will never forget. We were so blessed to be there. My real blessing came when I had to go to confession. I kept putting it off! Making excuses to God all the time. On Thursday night I decided to go to confession! I walked by the confessionals, hoping that our priests that had come on our pilgrimage with us were not in the cubicles. Our priests were there! I left and walked around the church. Suddenly I saw a priest sitting outside, with an English card by his feet. Well I said. "Here goes." He was a priest from Ireland with beautiful sincere eyes. We suddenly had a power failure! And I said "Thank you Lord, at least I don't have to stare at the priest!" Then suddenly the power came back on! I confessed as much as I could! But there is one sin which I have been confessing for the last twelve years. Father told me the reason for this sin being repeated is that God has not forgiven me. I needed to do more. My penance was to climb Cross Mt! I told him I did already! He said I should do it again. I told him I didn't want to go by myself. So he suggested Apparition hill! I agreed. Before I left he told me there will be a lot of temptation before I do my penance. When I got back to my room, two people from our group said they would go with me to climb Apparition hill. That night when I tried to sleep, there was this huge black dog biting me all over my hands, and it was really sore. I was dreaming. Every time I tried to sleep it was attacking me all over now. I was very frightened. I didn't sleep at all. At 4.30 am we left to climb Apparition Hill. The first Joyful mystery I was fine. The second Joyful mystery I got sick, my heart was beating so fast. I have a problem with high blood pressure! I thought my pressure was going high. I called to my friends that I could not continue the climb!!!! They could not hear me. I prayed to Our Lady and Jesus. I told them that I didn't mind dying on the Hill, but please give me the strength not to stop, or at least let me do my penance. Suddenly I was picked up and moved to the third mystery. My heart stopped beating [so hard]. I was filled with a warm feeling. Before my friends got to the fourth mystery I was there before them. I kept telling them someone is behind me. They said it's only the three of us. I knew Our Lady or Jesus was walking with me. Then we completed all mysteries! And we went down the hill. I cried a lot, I thanked Jesus and his Blessed Mother for the beautiful experience I had. I will never confess that sin again. I'm freed at last! Please share this with anyone and everyone. God bless you Cathy and your precious family. Gloria Somayi South Africa Thank you, Gloria, for sharing this wonderful experience with us. It seems that when you got your penance and made up your mind to do it, you really were tempted by the devil all night long. He wanted you to be exhausted and afraid. But instead, you began the climb, and when it became too hard for you, Jesus and Mary took over and helped you fly up the mountain just like the visionaries did in the first days of the apparitions! They just did your penance with you!! Isn't that just like Our Lord and Our Lady? They take on the lion's share of the work, leaving us only a little bit to do. Really only our "yes" is necessary! Wow, the power of confession! Wow, the power of Our Lady's presence in Medjugorje! Wow, the beauty of God's mercy for us there. Wow! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan ©Mary TV 2012 PS. Don't forget the Fruit of Medjugorje show tonight! It will be a special episode!
