Dear Family of Mary!
February 25, 2022 "Dear children! I am with you and we pray together. Help me with prayer, little children, that Satan may not prevail. His power of death, hatred, and fear has visited the earth. Therefore, little children, return to God and to prayer, to fasting and to renunciation, for all those who are downtrodden, poor, and have no voice in this world without God. Little children, if you do not return to God and His Commandments, you do not have a future. That is why He sent me to you to guide you. Thank you for having responded to my call."
Tomorrow begins the Season of Lent. We are called by the Church to spend the next 6 1/2 weeks in prayer, fasting and renunciation. This holy time is dedicated to repentance and penance, so that we can make way for the Lord in our lives. We need to weed out all that has crept in over the past year, all that would distract us from our path towards Heaven.
But this Lent has a more troubling aspect. As Our Lady said, "Help me with prayer, little children, that Satan may not prevail. His power of death, hatred, and fear has visited the earth." The war initiated by Russia against Ukraine has begun. War is evil. Evil has broken out in earnest. And so we need to also see the fasting and renunciation that we will do this Lent as our way to fight the evil that has broken out in our world. Our prayers must be the weapons of choice against the true enemy, Satan. We are not just doing a little house cleaning this Lent, we are in war.
By God's grace, we have Our Lady to guide us in this battle. She is with us to help us return to God and live His Commandments, to pray and fast for peace, and to love all mankind with the love of Jesus. She is our Champion General. May we be guided by her through these decisive and pivotal days of Lent.
