Dear Family of Mary!

I have decided to give Our Lady full rein in this reflection and so I have drawn a message from my box of messages to see what she wants to say!

Prophet Ezekiel, Russian icon from first quart...

"Dear children!  Today I thank you for all the sacrifices you have offered me these days.  Little children, I invite you to open yourselves to me and to decide to for conversion.  Your hearts, little children, are still not completely open to me and therefore, I invite you again to open to prayer so that in prayer the Holy Spirit will help you so that your hearts become of flesh and not of stone.  Little children, thank you for having responded to my call and for having decided to walk with me toward holiness."(June 25, 1996)
Our Lady sounds much like the prophet Ezekiel:

"For I will take you from the nations, and gather you from all the countries, and bring you into your own land.  I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.  A new heart I will give you and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will take out of your flesh the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.  And I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances.  You shall dwell in the land which I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God." (Ezek 36: 24-28)

Our hearts can become like stone over the years, due to our sins and the sins of others.  Our hearts can get hard as a defense mechanism.  We dare not be hurt again, and so we cut ourselves off from loving relationships and even from God.  We may turn in on ourselves, stop trusting God, become selfish and self-centered.  We can lose hope in love and life.  Little by little our hearts turn to stone.

Our Lady asks us to give life a chance.  She encourages us to try once more to find love and trust in God, to forgive Him for our wounds and sorrows, to open ourselves to His

presence and His Spirit.  She wants us to try again!

"I invite you again to open to prayer so that in prayer the Holy Spirit will help you so that your hearts become of flesh and not of stone."  Prayer is the way to open our hearts. Through prayer the Holy Spirit can move in us, healing our sorrows and pain, giving us the strength to forgive, and instilling in us the hope we need to believe in love again.  Through prayer God can give us new hearts, totally healed hearts that can love and trust and rejoice in Him.  Such hearts as these will conquer the world!

If in our hearts we feel heaviness it may be that they are turning to stone, imperceptibly, day by day.  We have to ask, "Am I praying as Our Lady asks me to?"  If we have moved out of prayer, our hearts may be filling up with negativity and unforgiveness.  We may be turning to idols, unawares!  The everyday hurts of life may be ossifying inside of us.  The remedy? Prayer!

"I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.  A new heart I will give you and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will take out of your flesh the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."

Come, Holy Spirit, and heal us!  Give us hearts of flesh again!

In Jesus and Mary!
