Mother Mary said at Fatima: "My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the sure way which will lead you to God." St. Thomas Aquinas said: "The things we love tell us who we are!" With that in mind, I will try to post each day something about Our Blessed Lady, items about the Holy Roman Catholic Church, and public domain Catholic books too! I pray you enjoy my ministry! Below are two albums of pictures that I created: 1. Our grand daughter Adrianna. 2. Tears of Mary!

[MaryVitamin] Chair of St. Peter
Mary Vitamin for February 22nd
Topic: The Chair of St. Peter (Feb. 22) and the Mother of the Church**
Quote:
John Paul II
"The title 'Mother of the Church' thus reflects the deep conviction of the Christian faithful, who see in Mary not only the mother of the person of Christ, but also of the faithful. She who is recognized as mother of salvation, life and grace, mother of the saved and mother of the living, is rightly proclaimed Mother of the Church."
Meditation:
Pope Benedict XVI
"The Council intended to tell us this: Mary is so interwoven in the great mystery of the Church that she and the Church are inseparable, just as she and Christ are inseparable. Mary mirrors the Church, anticipates the Church in her person, and in all the turbulence that affects the suffering, struggling Church she always remains the Star of salvation. In her lies the true centre in which we trust, even if its peripheries very often weigh on our soul.
[..]
This "Petrine" aspect of the Church however, is included in that "Marian" aspect. In Mary, the Immaculate, we find the essence of the Church without distortion.
[…]
In her, God has impressed his own image, the image of the One who follows the lost sheep even up into the mountains and among the briars and thornbushes of the sins of this world, letting himself be spiked by the crown of thorns of these sins in order to take the sheep on his shoulders and bring it home.
As a merciful Mother, Mary is the anticipated figure and everlasting portrait of the Son. Thus, we see that the image of the Sorrowful Virgin, of the Mother who shares her suffering and her love, is also a true image of the Immaculate Conception. Her heart was enlarged by being and feeling together with God. In her, God's goodness came very close to us."
Resolution:
On this feast of the Chair of St. Peter, I will call upon Our Lady as the Mother of the Church and pray the Litany of Loreto for the intentions of Our Holy Father.
Marian Vow:
"O Immaculate, Mother of the Church and Queen of the Missions, to you we renew today and for always our total consecration to love you and make you loved, to be apostles of your IMMACULATE HEART, our secure refuge and way of love which leads us to the SACRED HEART OF JESUS. Amen."
From the “Compendium of Prayers” in the Marian Seraphic Pathways
I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Thanks be to God for graces received.

**The title “Mother of the Church” was added by John Paul II in 1980 to the Litany of Loreto. (Here is an interesting site with information about the Litany of Loreto. Scroll down for information on the new additions to the Litany.)
