The Presentation of the Lord

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! In this time of grace, I call you to come even closer to God through your personal prayer. Make good use of the time of rest and give your soul and your eyes rest in God. Find peace in nature and you will discover God the Creator Whom you will be able to give thanks to for all creatures; then you will find joy in your heart. Thank you for having responded to my call."  (July 25, 2001)

We in Indiana are in the middle of a blizzard!  Snow is coming down in piles, and blowing around like crazy.  There is no school today.  No one is going anywhere.  Life as usual has come to a standstill.

In such a storm I become aware of the power in nature.  Even with all our big machines and power sources, we can still be halted by a storm.  God is in the storm.  God is the uncreated creator of the ecosystem that we live in.  It is His power surging in the wind and numbing in the cold. It brings a certain silence to my heart when I think about His power and my littleness.

Today is a good day for me to take some time for personal prayer.  I can't go anywhere.  I'm trapped!  But I can look out my window and ponder the powerful snowstorm that is swirling around my house.  Maybe I will discover God in this storm!

Maybe I can rest my eyes and my soul in God today.  He is forcing me to stay put, to rest. His powerful arms are around me in a strong embrace!

And also today, Our Lady may give another message through Mirjana!

It's a good time to come closer to God through personal prayer!  Thank you Lord, for making me stop today!

In Jesus and Mary!

PS.  Pictured is our son, Joe!  He has the day off!
