CHAPTER XIV: TWO HEARTS OF WIT & WISDOM

Once upon a time, there was this very unhappy citizen, in a large city, his car was parked in a 'difficult' neighborhood, he had just made a delivery. As he returned to his auto, he looked, he didn't believe his eyes: all four tires and wheels were gone--disappeared.
"Mama mia! What am I going to do now? How can I get home?"
In his glove-compartment he found a black chalk. He wrote these words on the back-window of his car:

"Dear Thief:
"Thank you for stealing my 4 tires and wheels!
"If I should be unfortunate enough to go to hell--I expect to see you there.
"And please, remind me there in hell--to knock the hell out of you."

The man simply sat in his vehicle, he just waited to see what else would happen--for better or for worse. He was an ex-prize-fighter, a heavy-weight no less. Yes indeed, he prayed to St. Anthony:

"Something is lost that should be found--please St. Anthony look around."

After several hours a teen-ager approached his car, knocked on the window and told him:
"I know who stole your wheels--I'll get him to bring them back to you." And the young man was gone.
Sure enough, the tires and wheels were back in short order.
"Thank you St. Anthony!" After one receives the lost articles, one must give to the poor 'the promised amount of money'--or you will not find your lost article next time!
Yes, St. Anthony pays off like a good slot-machine!
