[MaryVitamin] the sound of nails

Mary Vitamin for July 7th

Topic:  The Crucifixion

Quote:
Father Faber
"Mary hears it all. The hammer is falling upon her living heart; for her love had long since been dead to self, and only lived in Him."
The Foot of the Cross, (Tan Books), 242.
Tan Books

Meditation:
""She looked upward to heaven. She could not speak. Words would have said nothing. The Father alone understood the offering of that heart, now broken so many times. To her the Nailing was not one action. Each knock was a separate martyrdom."
The Foot of the Cross, (Tan Books),  242.

Resolution:
I will pause in front of my crucifix today in the company of Our Lady  to reflect on the horror of Our Lord receiving the Nailing. Then later in the day, I will offer up one sound (the neighbor's loud music, sirens, children screaming, telephones ringing) in memory of Our Lady's suffering at the foot of the Cross. How much easier is it to bear the sounds I hear than to have to bear the sound of the Nailing.

Marian Vow:
In the homes of the Tertiaries
"The Crucifix, so dear to the Seraphic Father, should occupy the principal place in the rooms, and an image of the Madonna is to be given a place of prominence in the house, as most amiable 'Queen of the family', together with that of St. Joseph , its most valiant protector."
Marian Seraphic Pathways, Constitutions #47a

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.
