SCRIPTURE COMMENTARY #268

But he said to her: "Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole. Go thy way in peace."
And Jesus hearing this word, answered the father of the maid: "Fear not. Believe only: and she shall be safe." (Luke 8:48; 50)

WITHOUT FAITH, neither one nor the other would have obtained help. Our Lord said to Jairus: "Believe only, and she shall be safe," and to the woman He said: "Thy faith hath made thee whole." "If thou hadst not had faith, the touch of My garment would have availed thee nothing." Without faith there is no cure for the body, no salvation for the soul.

Forsake Me Not When My Strength Is Spent

In you, O Lord, do I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame!
In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;
incline your ear to me, and save me!

Be to me a rock of refuge,
to which I may continually come;
you have given the command to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.

Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked,
