Dissident Group Worried About Vatican Influence Following USCCB Elections

A few months ago Georgetown University professors helped found "Catholics for Equality" - a group on a same-sex marriage crusade on Catholic campuses.  One of their leaders said the group is "laced with the strong conviction that the bishops no longer speak for the Catholic Church," but now they are concerned about the election of Archbishop Dolan as president of the USCCB.  If the bishops are so irrelevant, then why are they up in arms over the election of one of our most courageous bishops to this top post?  Read More...

Jesuit University to Honor Sr. Keehan Who Supported Obamacare

The University of San Francisco's office of University Ministry will honor Sister Carol Keehan at its "Stand 4 Conference" on November 23, according to the University.  She will deliver a talk entitled "Health Care as a Social Justice Issue," despite the fact that she defied the U.S. bishops' efforts to urge Congress to pass a healthcare bill including pro-life provisions.  Read More...

'Powerful Lesbian' Advises Marquette on 'Gay Issues'

The Marquette Warrior blog reports that a professor named one of "20 Powerful Lesbian Academics" was invited last month to "consult" the University on "Gay issues."  The consultant named by the blog is Dr. Ronnie Sanlo, the director of the UCLA Lesbian Resource Center.  The meeting was "supposed to be hush-hush."  Read More...

University Ousts Professor After Lesbian 'Wedding'

The State Journal Register reports that the director of the education program at Benedictine University (Springfield, IL) alleges she was pressured from from her job after her lesbian "wedding announcement" was published in the newspaper.  But she claims the University had known of her sexuality and her marriage plans, and only took action when she publicized the wedding.  Read More...


Woman 'Ordained a Deacon' Featured in Jesuit College Mag

Le Moyne College highlighted an alumna who was supposedly "ordained" by the "Roman Catholic Womenpriests Movement" in a recent edition of their magazine.  We wonder if the College is telling students that this is an equally laudable career option for graduates.  Read More...
