Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Today’s readings state, in no uncertain terms, that God intends each of us to show our faith in Him by obeying His will. Because all of God’s children share this obligation, we can and should support one another in expressing our deepest spiritual beliefs through our faithful and loving actions.
The Psalms offer comfort to us as children of God who find in Him a “rock of refuge, a stronghold to give me safety.” In St. Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus Himself clarifies what God actually asks of each of us, His followers. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father.” Jesus makes it clear in all His teachings – love of God and love of neighbor are the heart of His message. This is a special bond we share with all men, women and children of every heritage and in every nation.
Suggested missionary action: Think about your role as a follower of Christ and how you can best demonstrate your faith by helping your brothers and sisters worldwide live out their faith – or come to know Jesus and experience His love for the first time.

Please no anonymous comments. I require at least some way for people to address each other personally and courteously. Having some name or handle helps.
