Religious vocations were on the minds of many in Howard Beach as Ave Maria Catholic Academy (AMCA) and Our Lady of Grace parish held its first Vocations Fair. The event began with Mass celebrated by Father Anthony Rucando, pastor, and Deacon Alex Breviario, along with Diocesan Vocations Director Father Kevin Abels, and included a procession of a dozen religious communities and many school children dressed as saints, priests, and religious. Each community shared its mission and history to the hundreds who attended. The fair also served as the Catholic Identity Celebration of the academy, which is now in its second year. OLG set the following goals: nurture vocations to the priesthood and religious life, increase Mass attendance of school families, and strengthen the relationship between OLG parish and AMCA. Holding the fair on a Sunday afternoon enabled students from the parish religious education program to participate. Howard Beach Vocation Fair
Mother Mary said at Fatima: "My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the sure way which will lead you to God." St. Thomas Aquinas said: "The things we love tell us who we are!" With that in mind, I will try to post each day something about Our Blessed Lady, items about the Holy Roman Catholic Church, and public domain Catholic books too! I pray you enjoy my ministry! Below are two albums of pictures that I created: 1. Our grand daughter Adrianna. 2. Tears of Mary!
