Dear Family of Mary!
"Dear children! I call you anew to consecrate yourselves to my heart and the heart of my Son Jesus. I desire, little children, to lead you all on the way of conversion and holiness. Only in this way, through you, we can lead all the more souls on the way of salvation. Do not delay, little children, but say with all your heart: "I want to help Jesus and Mary that all the more brothers and sisters may come to know the way of holiness." In this way, you will feel the contentment of being friends of Jesus. Thank you for having responded to my call." (October 25, 2003)
Here is a summary of the
events surrounding the Consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart
of Mary. This summary was published by Zenit.org.
Rome, October 10, 2013 (Zenit.org) H. Sergio Mora
The image of Our Lady of Fatima, which is kept in the Portuguese Shrine, will be in Rome on Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th of October, for the consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Pope Francis will carry out the consecration on Sunday,
during Marian Day, one of the highlights of the Year of Faith. An
estimated 200,000 pilgrims are expected to attend the Mass in Saint
Peter's Square, as well as hundreds of Movements and institutions.
The Marian Day will begin on Saturday
with a pilgrimage to the tomb of the Apostle Peter, Eucharistic
Adoration and Confessions in churches near Saint Peter's Basilica.
Pope Francis and all those present will receive the image of the Virgin of Fatima at 5:00 pm
in Saint Peter's Square. After the Holy Father's Marian catechesis, the
image representing the Virgin Mary, as she appeared to the three little
shepherds in Fatima, will be taken to the Roman Shrine of Divine Love, a
favorite place of the Roman faithful, some 15 kilometers from the
center of Rome.
The Vigil, entitled "Con Maria oltre la notte" (With Mary Throughout the Night) will begin at 10:00 pm local time....
On Sunday
the 13th, the Pope will celebrate the Holy Mass in Saint Peter's Square
and then consecrate the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary...
The
Marian Day, organized by the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New
Evangelization, is inserted in the program of the Year of Faith. The
program describes the Day as the "celebration of a Marian Day with the
presence of all Marian associations and with the theme "Happy You Who
Believed!" (October 10, 2013) © Innovative Media Inc.
This wonderful two day
event is a bold move by Pope Francis to bind the world to Our Lady. It
seems that we who have responded to Our Lady's call in Medjugorje are
uniquely prepared to join in this consecration. Even if we are not
connected by the internet or TV, we can be part of this prayer event by
praying our Rosaries as much as possible on these two days. With all our
hearts, may we support our Holy Father in this inspired consecration.
The world needs Our Lady desperately. We can help form the prayer bridge
that will unite this tired, aching world to the Mother who has come to
save us.
"Dear children! I am coming among you because I desire to be your mother - your intercessor. I desire to be the bond between you and the Heavenly Father - your mediatrix. I desire to take you by the hand and to walk with you in the battle against the impure spirit. My children, consecrate yourselves to me completely. I will take your lives into my motherly hands and I will teach them peace and love, and then I will give them over to my Son. I am asking of you to pray and fast because only in this way will you know how to witness my Son in the right way through my motherly heart. Pray for your shepherds that, united in my Son, they can always joyfully proclaim the Word of God. Thank you." (March 18, 2013)
