franciscanfriars — April 03, 2010 — Mark Miravalle asks us to defend Pope Benedict and pray for the declaration of the Fifth Marian Dogma, relating Pope Benedict's persecution to that of Jesus. He points out that it was not until Pope Pius IX was similarly persecuted and had to flee for his life from Rome in 1848 that he declared the dogma of the Immaculate Conception in 1854. The Papacy then enjoyed over a century of growing prestige. Yes, let us pray for this!!
