Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! At this time of grace, I call you to prayer. Little children, you work much but without God's blessing. Bless and seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to lead you at this time so that you may comprehend and live in the grace of this time. Convert, little children, and kneel in the silence of your hearts. Put God in the center of your being so that, in that way, you can witness in joy the beauty that God continually gives in your life. Thank you for having responded to my call."

"Silent night, Holy night,

all is calm; all is bright,

round yon Virgin, Mother and Child,

Holy Infant so tender and mild.

Sleep in heavenly peace,

sleep in heavenly peace."

So much of the mystery and power of Christmas is found in the silence that surrounds the Stable.  We ponder the dark and starry sky, the cold air, the sparkling snow, the moist breathe of the ox and the lamb, and the heavenly light that emits from the Infant in the manger.  We join the speechless shepherds huddled around the Holy Family, and we just look in awe.  Silence. This is the gift we pray for in our second day of the novena for Christmas!

SECOND DAY:      DECEMBER 17

0 Merciful Redeemer, Who did vouchsafe to remain in the chaste cloister of Mary's womb, hidden and unknown, though You were the Eternal Word, and the Wisdom of the Father.  O grant that we may learn from You to love solitude and silence, and escape the evils that are found in the tumult and distractions of the world; grant us greater purity of mind and of heart; grant that we may glorify You, and edify others by our purity and modesty.

Our Father...   Hail Mary...  Glory be...

HAIL AND BLESSED be the hour and the moment in which the Son of God was born of the Most Pure Blessed Virgin Mary at midnight in Bethlehem in the piercing cold: In that hour, vouchsafe, 0 my God, to hear my, prayer and grant my petitions, through the merits of Jesus Christ Our Lord.

In Jesus and Mary!
