December 28, 2010 The Holy Innocents Dear Family of Mary! "Dear children! Today, I and my Son desire to give you an abundance of joy and peace so that each of you may be a joyful carrier and witness of peace and joy in the places where you live. Little children, be a blessing and be peace. Thank you for having responded to my call." (December 25, 2010) Our Lord and Our Lady want to fill us with peace and joy. We all want these gifts. But to receive them we need to be prepared for them. This prayer of Saint Francis, which embodies so much of his way of life, may be helpful for us in preparing for peace and joy. The process is a simple one. We give away to all those we meet the very things that we wish to receive, and in giving them away we make room for God to give them back to us in abundance! Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen Holy Innocents, pray for us! In Jesus and Mary! Cathy Nolan
