On June 23, 2011, the Feast of Corpus Christi, thousands of pilgrims who had arrived to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Our Lady Queen of Peace of Medjugorje, processed through the village of Medjugorje, behind the Blessed Sacrament, praying and singing. Many of the villagers set up altars along the route of the procession and the procession would stop at different houses to do a blessing upon the village. It was a beautiful experience for all those who participated with the thousands of other pilgrims from all over the world, prayerfully following behind Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. For many, it prepared their hearts in a much deeper way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Our Lady here in Medjugorje.
Part of the massive crowds that were present to be with Our Lady during the celebration of Her 30th Anniversary of the Apparitions here in Medjugorje. The Mass was held outside, on the altar at the back of the church, but thousands of pilgrims completely surrounded the church in order to find their own spot to pray and participate in the Holy Mass on the June 25th.
Although there were tens of thousands of pilgrims from all over the world present here in the village of Medjugorje for the 30th anniversary of Our Lady Queen of Peace of Medjugorje, thousands of Croatians from all over the surrounding areas pilgrimaged here during these special days of grace, many walking for several miles to be present with Our Lady and give their thanksgiving of the past 30 years of grace they have received through Our Lady’s presence among them.
Ivanka, Marija, Ivan, Mirjana, and Jakov were all present during the Mass at St. James Church on June 25, 2011. At the end of Mass, they led the pilgrims in special prayers. Vicka, the only visionary missing, was injured during this time when speaking to pilgrims and not able to be present with the rest of the six visionaries.
The Community of Caritas Mission House in Medjugorje, preparing for the 30th Anniversary of Our Lady Queen of Peace of Medjugorje. The large billboards placed on two sides of the Mission House brought many more pilgrims into the Mission House during these days of celebration. They all left the Mission House with bags full of material about Our Lady’s messages and grateful hearts for all they received to help them in their journey in Our Lady’s school of prayer and love.
Inside and outside the Mission House the night of June 25, 2011. Thousands of pilgrims crowded into the Mission House to receive Our Lady’s June 25th message, given to Marija Lunetti, on the anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions. Thousands of message cards in Croatian, English, Italian, German, Polish, French, Spanish, Slovak, and Portuguese were given out that night. In less than 1 ½ days, we printed and gave out over 16,000 message cards to pilgrims from all over the world.
The crowds were so great the night of June 25 that as soon as the cards were being printed, they were snatched up by eager pilgrims wanting with all their hearts to read and begin to prayerfully put into practice the words Our Lady gave that night.
Outside the Mission House on the night of June 25, 2011. Many of the Caritas pilgrims who were on pilgrimage during the 30th anniversary helped to pass out the message cards, even the youngest ones. It was a highlight for many of the pilgrims as they stood outside the Mission House handing out the message cards or walked through the streets of Medjugorje, going into restaurants and shops and seeing the excitement and surprise of all those they handed the message cards to from all over the world.
