Quote:
Our Lady on July 13, 1917
"Make sacrifices for sinners and say often, especially when you make some sacrifice, 'O my Jesus, this is for love of Thee, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.'"
Father De Marchi, I.M.C., Fatima from the Beginning, (Edições: Missões Consolata: 1986), 78.
Meditation:
Blessed Jacinta took these words of Our Lady to her heart. Nothing was exempted from the little girl's asceticism as illustrated in these words:
"I was thirsty and I didn't drink and I offered it to Jesus for sinners. In the night I had pains and I offered Our Lord the sacrifice of not turning over in bed and so I didn't sleep at all." (190)
Bl. Jacinta said this from her hospital bed suffering acutely from tuberculosis and other complications. This brave girl was nearing her tenth birthday at the time of her death.
Following Our Lady's words heroically seemed to result in Bl. Jacinta's ardent love for the Blessed Sacrament.
"Lucia, have you been to holy Communion to-day? Then come close to me because you have hidden Jesus in your heart. I don't know how it is, but I feel Our Lord inside me and I understand what He says though I can't see Him or hear Him, but I love to be with Him."(191)
"It's hidden Jesus, how I love Him. If only I could receive Him in the church. Can you go to Holy Communion in Heaven? If so, I shall go every day. If the angel could go to the hospital and take me Holy Communion how happy I should be" (191)
Resolution:
Today, I will be mindful of Bl. Jacinta's example of following Our Lady's words. I will look for one sacrifice to make and say "For the Love of God, the conversion of sinners and sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary." And then, I will make a Spiritual Communion.
Marian Vow:
"The FTI, therefore, must 'give a first class example' writes St. Maximilian 'of how to love the Immaculate, to sacrifice ourselves without limit to Her'

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Thanks be to God for graces received.
