Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! Today, like never before, I invite you to prayer. Let your prayer be a prayer for peace. Satan is strong and desires to destroy not only human life, but also nature and the planet on which you live. Therefore, dear children, pray that through prayer you can protect yourselves with God's blessing of peace. God has sent me among you so that I may help you. If you so wish, grasp for the rosary. Even the rosary alone can work miracles in the world and in your lives. I bless you and I remain with you for as long as it is God's will. Thank you for not betraying my presence here and I thank you because your response is serving the good and the peace." (January 25, 1991)

This famous message from Our Lady carries with it a lot of urgency and even a hint of fear. Our Lady uses words that show her concern for us, even her alarm at our situation. Much like the very first message she gave (June 25, 1981) which I quoted yesterday, she hints at the destruction of the world, made possible by Satan's plans and influence over human beings.

What is the solution to this threatening situation? "Therefore, dear children, pray that through prayer you can protect yourselves with God's blessing of peace." Prayer is the solution, and God's peace is the protection. Satan threatens us through disaster, war, conflict, rebellion, confusion, retaliation, division, and the myriad of ways he tries to drive love out of the world. But he can only truly hurt us if he persuades us to separate from God, to turn away from our Creator. If we stay connected to God and dwell in Him and His peace, Satan cannot destroy us. We will find ourselves for eternity, in the arms of our Lord.

When we pray, we are connected to God. We speak to Him and He speaks to us. Prayer is our lifeline with the Lord. As we pray, we receive God's peace, the gift of God that settles in our souls, and makes us unshakable in the face of adversity. God's peace gives us the clear-headed ability to choose the good and to love. God's peace protects us from every temptation. And it is temptation that is our only real threat, because if we give in to temptation, we will separate ourselves from God and lose our way. Without peace we will become vulnerable to the enemy of our souls.

Prayer and peace are the solutions to the fearful threats of our day. Prayer and peace will work miracles in us and through us for the world that is so convulsed with fear these days. Prayer and God's peace.

"God alone is peace. Therefore, approach him through your personal prayer and then live peace in your hearts; and in this way peace will flow from your hearts like a river into the whole world. Do not speak about peace, but make peace." (February 25, 1991)

Our Lady spoke these words also in 1991. "God alone is peace." We could meditate on these simple words for a long time. "God alone is peace." God is the perfection of peace. He embodies peace. He is always peace, always. God is peace within himself, needing no addition to Himself and no help to be peace. He just is peace. And He is our peace. We will find peace from no other source. No other power can give us peace. No other authority can give peace or ensure peace. "God alone is peace." Every other system, every other power, every practice outside of God, every other ideal, will fail us. "God alone is peace." God alone can make peace in us. Only our Triune God, Father, Son and Spirit, is peace.

And we can approach our God through personal prayer any time of day or night, and receive peace from Him. He desires to give it to us. He longs to fills us with His peace. His peace is total reconciliation with Him and with ourselves and with others. His peace is love.

This is a start, I guess, in our examination of the first of the main messages, Peace. More tomorrow. We need to hear from Our Lady about peace!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
