"Pray for my intentions..."

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children, as of today, in a special way, I desire to call you at this time in a special way to pray for my intentions. Pray, dear children, for my plans that I desire to realize. I need your prayers. I desire to realize them through you.  Thank you, dear children, also today for responding to my call." (Message through Ivan, July 8, 2013)

I was really impressed by Our Lady's insistence that she needs us to pray for her intentions. "In this special time...in a special way..." There is something imminent about this request. Our Lady needs us to respond now. She needs us to respond with great fervor. Why? Because I believe her plans are at a turning point. There is a great deal at stake, and she needs our prayers now! It is through our prayers for her intentions that her plans will happen. She is counting on us.

My friend Diane responded to this message in this way:

We offered tonight's rosary for Our Lady's intentions, because Denis has done such a great job teaching us and reminding us ... then I read this [message] :) I am reminded of being a kid and wanting to help my mom...not really understanding the grown-up task, its real importance or even how to do it...but just that feeling of "I want to help!"  That's how I feel when we remember to pray for Our Lady's intentions and her plan.  She is always leading us to Jesus so why shouldn't we pray for her plans? So simple and so beautiful, just like Our Lady and her motherly love for us!

I like this analogy! Thanks Diane. It is true that when Our Lady asks us to pray for her intentions, we are like children. We must respond to this request blindly. We don't really know Our Lady's entire plan. We can guess at parts of it, but the full plan is hidden from our eyes. So like children, we can only do our part and trust that she has the whole picture in hand. Like a mother in the kitchen, making a big meal, she may be asking us to go peel potatoes, or set the table, or to measure out the flour for a recipe. We can do these things, and yet have no idea what the finished product will be. Our particular job is important. But we have to trust our mother to pull the dinner together!

And so at this time, this special time, we are being asked to do our part for the completion of Our Lady's plan. Our part is to pray for her intentions. She needs prayer. She needs intercessors, those who will put their own needs and desires aside, and pray for what Our Lady needs. She needs us to sacrifice our own desires and needs, set them aside, and put her needs first. This is not so easy. It takes an act of the will to pray for Our Lady's intentions, blindly and selflessly. We much choose to set our own agendas aside and pray for her intentions freely and with joy!

At the end of his remarks on July 8, after the apparition, Ivan said again:

"Our Lady really in a special way is inviting us to pray at this time for her intentions that the plans she desires may be realized. That is the most important part of what Our Lady said to us."

Ivan repeated the call of Our Lady with seriousness. I believe it is really important that we do as she asks, right now, at this time! We will find out later what great things were accomplished because of our response to her call:

"Dear children, as of today, in a special way, I desire to call you at this time in a special way to pray for my intentions. Pray, dear children, for my plans that I desire to realize. I need your prayers. I desire to realize them through you.  Thank you, dear children, also today for responding to my call." (Message through Ivan, July 8, 2013)
