St. Therese of the Child Jesus
Dear Family of Mary!
Today is a special feast.
St. Therese of the Child Jesus! She has taught the whole church exactly
what it means to trust in Jesus for everything. We can enter into
spiritual childhood through her example. Our Lady is calling us to the
same childlike relationship with the Lord. She once said to us:
"Dear children! Today I invite you to decide every day for God. Little children, you speak much about God, but you witness little with your life. Therefore, little children, decide for conversion, that your life may be true before God, so that in the truth of your life you witness the beauty God gave you. Little children, I invite you again to decide for prayer because through prayer, you will be able to live the conversion. Each one of you shall become in the simplicity, similar to a child which is open to the love of the Father. Thank you for having responded to my call." July 25, 1996

I want to conclude the transcript of Marija's talk on Saturday. Truly Marija represents to us a similar childlike openness and dependency upon God. Her words are simple and direct:
There were
people who started saying yes to Our Lady, and to her call. They started
saying yes to God, yes to fasting, yes to prayer. .And then Our Lady
understood that she could count on us. That she needed us. That she
desired to present us to her Son as the most beautiful flower bouquet.
She invited us and asked us if we were ready to pray more. And when Fr.
Jozo would tell the message on the microphone, we all said, "Yes, yes."
And I remember one day when Our Lady asked us to pray and fast on bread
and water for nine days, and we did it, not through our strength but
with the love that we felt for Our Lady. And then after that time we
would go up the hill and cross mountain, sometimes both in the same day,
and we would pray, and we could feel that our stomach was empty but at
the same time we were saying yes, that with prayer and fasting even wars
could be stopped.
And we
witnessed many conversions. Many sinners started to choose the right
way. We started realizing that God is in our midst. That He works that
he heals, and that He converts. He is not only up in the clouds but He
is with us. And we felt His presence in our hearts and in our families
as well. And then Our Lady started guiding this parish through weekly
messages. Every Thursday
Our Lady would give a message for this parish. She started guiding this
parish so that it could become a good example for other parishes. Then
step by step so many pilgrims started coming closer to Our Lady, and so
Our Lady started giving messages for the whole world every 25th of the
month. And she said that the messages were for all of us so that we
could grow more in faith.
These are
not new messages. Our Lady is just saying that she desires to wake us up
because we fell asleep, we do not pray, we do not believe. There was a
lack of faith that was ruling our heart. God became far from us. We did
not look for Him, we did not pray to Him we did not believe in His
power. Then step by step with the help of Our Lady, Queen of Peace, we
started living a new journey. Maybe you will ask what kind of journey
this is. It is an every day journey, a journey of life. To wake up early
until the moment we fall asleep, when we are tired, we are still able
to pray. We stared praying and working, fasting and working, singing on
our knees, singing and praying. In all possible ways prayer was part of
our day. And as one of our bishops said, a bishop who is a friend of
mine, he said we started praying as we washed dishes, ironing, cleaning,
the way our mothers and grandmothers did. The prayer in our family was
awakened, and prayer in our hearts was awakened. We did not leave any
space to the devil to enter our hearts or families. And that is what we
are invited to do. We are invited to be the prayer for all those who do
not pray. For all those who do not adore Jesus.
We can say
that we here from Medjugorje exported the way of adoration - so many
other places in the world are adoring Our Lord in the Medjugorje way,
through singing, prayer and meditation to be before Jesus. There were
times when we did not even know what to do, we would kneel before Jesus
and say, "Jesus I am looking at you and you are looking at me. That is
enough. You know what is in my heart. You know my desires and pain. You
know about it because You created me in Your image. When I become your
servant, your instrument, You can use me and You can guide me and then
will I be able to find joy, eternal joy that lasts forever."
And that is
why Our Lady says start living paradise here on the earth; where - in
our heart. With who - with God in our heart and the help of the Queen of
Peace. She is our Queen. She is the Queen of our hearts, the Queen of
our future. She is hope for all those who are hopeless. So many,
nowadays, do not see any future. She is here and she is present and she
says, "Do not be afraid because I am with you and I love you. Do not
forget that. The one who prays, who believes, who has God does not have
any more fear, because God is our Shepherd. And we should not lack
anything."
That is why
He sent His Mother to us, because He does not abandon us. She is the
one who helps us as our teacher and mother and she says, "My children
bring back prayer, return to God, return to the sacraments. Live the
sacraments. Live God's commandments and in that moment when you belong
to God you will be content and happy. Your life will find the fullness
of living, and at that moment you will become the instruments for all
those who have not experienced God's love.
Remember
that every 2nd of the month Our Lady started appearing to ask us to pray
for all who are far from God. And each one of us, if we start thinking
about it in our heart, we will say, I know him or her, someone, who
knows how many people we know, who are far from God and we would love
them to return to God and to the sacraments.
And Our
Lady says to us that prayer has no limits. Prayer works miracles. Prayer
is our life. And she invites us in the last message given to us, to
have prayer as joy in our life. Not something we are forced to do, but
Our Lady said "Choose in the freedom God gives you, to choose God
because without God you have no future." And that is why Our Lady does
not get tired. She is our mother, and she desires to guide us and help
us. She desires to say to us that she is with us. As at the foot of the
cross, when she was close to her dying Son, it would seem there was no
hope left, but she became the hope of the Church. And we Christians
should be proud to have Our Lady as our Mother and we should be grateful
for that. A Christian who is Marian is richer. Because we have spice,
we have Our Lady! She is the one who intercedes for us before God, the
Mother of Jesus and also Our Mother. She knows in what way to present
our intentions and our pain, our desires and our suffering. She is the
Spouse of the Holy Spirit. You know that the Holy Spirit can do what He
wishes. She knows, as the Spouse of the Holy Spirit, how to intercede
for us and our lives until each of us truly becomes a holy person. There
are so many people who die witnessing their faith. Our Lady invites us
to be carriers of faith in this year of faith. We are united in a
special way with the Holy Father in prayer.
Also
through the moment of the Consecration that the present Pope will do
before the statue of Our Lady of Fatima, which will be done on Oct. 13,
we who are in love with Our Lady will be content and we will be united
with the Pope and the entire Church asking that Mary, the Mother of
Jesus, may protect the Church. This is a new journey with this gift that
God has given to us through Pope Francis, through his simplicity,
prayer, testimony, in which he says to us to witness our Christian life
there where we are in our everyday situation. He invites us not to be
indifferent. That we truly become the extended hands, as Our Lady
invites us to be, for those who are far away, pagans, those who haven't
gotten the chance to know the Gospel and the love of God and there are
so many of them. We have to have in our mind that we help them, so they
may feel the love of God.
That is why
I invite you who have come to Medjugorje, make good use of this time
here so that this time may become an encounter with Jesus, through Our
Lady. Use this time for prayer. Go up the Cross Mountain or Apparition
Hill praying. Pray before the Blessed Sacrament. If you are not used to
prayer take some of the books to help you, to reveal the prayer to you,
to help you to know some new prayers and invocations, so we may be
enriched until the moment when our life becomes a prayer itself. And
since I am the one who still has daily apparitions, I will remember all
of you and pray for your intentions at the moment of Our Lady's
apparition. You at that time here at the church, stop and pray. I will
recommend all of you, so that when you return home you will live a new
life and be witnesses of a new life for other people.
We have
many priests with us, so we will ask them to bless us, so that we may
become instruments whose hearts of stone may be softened to receive the
word of God and Our Lady's call. And then one day when we come to heaven
she may say to us, thank you for having responded to my call.
Everyone stood, and the priests blessed the whole assembly....
God Our
Heavenly Father, we ask your blessing on us this day. Please send your
Holy Spirit to cleanse us and renew us. Fill us with your gifts and
charity so that we can extend the love of Our Lady to all we meet. Bless
us all and all those we pray for back home so we can live as Christ
wants us to live. And continue to bring us, dear Blessed Mother, to your
Divine Son. May the Lord bless us all in the name of the Father, Son
and Holy Spirit. Amen

“I went against my enemies and they are no more.” This was a common testimony of victory written by kings during Old Testament times. The goal of war was total annihilation of the enemy; from their rulers, right down to the family guppy. The motive was not about power, but the removal of influence.
Reading the accounts of warfare in the Old Testament can leave one feeling the outcomes were a little over the top for our modern acceptance.
Today, we are against genocide. Instead, modern warfare endeavors to inflict enough mayhem upon the enemy until they cry “uncle” by signing an article of surrender.
But this does not mean the old approach to warfare is no longer relevant. It still has its place in spiritual conflicts where we battle against the powers and dark forces that challenge us within.
We must not enter into spiritual warfare hoping to bring our enemies to a gentleman’s agreement to no longer bother us. Spiritual enemies never honor such contracts. As long as they remain within, they will attack.
Our goal must be the complete destruction of these spiritual influences. The victory must be all-inclusive and perpetual, destroying both the enemy’s stronghold and influence on our nature.
So how are your spiritual battles going? Are you vanquishing the enemy or trying to achieve an armistice? You will never have complete victory until you can testify, by the help of God: “I went against my enemies and they are no more.”

Yesterday we were joyfully
busy with Mary TV tasks. Denis and I prayed the Rosary again in our
studio, with the expert help of Josip, KiKi and Ivan. It is so different
to have a crew helping us. We also taped a beautiful testimony of an
American Priest. And then Rosie asked me to share a little bit about the
Evening of Prayer at St. Stephen's Cathedral for Tea with Rosie! Add to
that Holy Mass, and prayer at St. James and you have quite a day!
There is so much life in Medjugorje, so many opportunities to receive
and share graces! Wow!
I want to finish the
transcript of Marija's talk given on September 28 (but I have only did
another third of it). Many have shared that it is nice to have the
written version, so they can pray over what Marija says. So here is part
two of Marija's talk:
Without God
we do not have God or eternal life. And that is why she has been
inviting us to conversion. She said, "Leave sin behind. Give up on sin.
Renounce it and embrace holiness." It's difficult to renounce our habits
which we do every day and by which we are attached to sin. But Our Lady
says to us that her desire is that we become her extended hands. In the
moment when we become her extended hands, we become her instruments,
and we will start feeling the joy of being her instruments because we
will see that that desert that is around us and often inside of us will
start blossoming. In that moment we will feel gratitude in our heart.
Our Lady invites us to be the instrument through our prayers and our
joy. Our Lady invites us day by day to start a serious walk, a walk of
conversion.
Already in
the first months Our Lady was inviting us to choose a priest to be our
spiritual guide so that we can walk together with his help in a serious
way, so that we are able to be guided through God's commandments. Our
Lady said to us, reflect upon the life of the Saints and follow what
they did. Once during an extraordinary apparition Our Lady invited us to
go to a place not far from our house, and after our everyday
apparitions Our Lady invited us to an extraordinary apparition that was a
second apparition of that day. And we understood that Our Lady would
say something important, and that is exactly what happened.
Our Lady
appeared and then we started recommending to her all our intentions, all
our prayers and all we had in our heart. We started to recommend all
the sick people and those who recommended themselves to our prayers. And
then Our Lady said to us that all of us there were able to come closer
and touch her. Then we six visionaries said to her, "Our Lady, how would
that be possible? Because they can't see you, it is only the six of us
who can see you." But Our Lady said to us, "You take their hands and
bring them closer to me." And that is exactly what we did. Step by step,
everyone had the experience of touching Our Lady. And everyone could
feel her presence. And they really all of them had an experience of Our
Lady's special presence. Some people felt cold, some warmth, some felt
electricity, but everyone believed that Our Lady was there. But we [the
visionaries] when everyone was touching Our Lady could see that on her
dress there were some dirty spots remaining. Smaller ones and bigger
ones. And in a certain moment the dress of Our Lady was dirty. We
started crying and we said, "Why did your dress become this dirty?" And
then Our Lady said, "Those were our sins that made it dirty. Return to
the Church. Choose a priest who will guide you, will help you to know
what is sin and not sin." She invited us to monthly confession. And then
I remember that the day after, none of us wanted Our Lady's dress to be
dirty again. The following morning we went to the church to look for
our parish priest, Fr. Jozo, and we all wanted to go to confession. And
then step by step, Fr. Jozo started calling all the priests from the
neighborhood to come and help. And today, Medjugorje has become the
greatest confessional of the world, where every pilgrim is invited to go
and reconcile with God.
She who is
the Queen of peace is inviting us to become instruments of that peace.
And Our Lady invites us to become her extended hands in this world,
where our mission is to do it in our homes, in the place of our work
where we can live our mission. In what way? I would say with the example
of your personal life, with your everyday example, with prayer, love,
and with all those things to which our Lady invites us in her messages.
She invites
us to put the Holy Bible in a visible place in our homes. So that every
day we can read the Bible and pray, and to put into practice what we
learn.
To the
Apparition Hill, the place where Our Lady appeared for the first time,
Podbrdo as we call it, we were happy to go up there with her. Because we
said to you, Our Lady said that she had chosen that place there on the
hill. In the beginning it was nothing, thorny bushes, rocks and stones.
Before it had no significance, but now because of her presence and her
apparitions there that place has become so important for us and for our
parish. But Our Lady did not stop up on the hill.
At a
certain moment, the communist police stopped us from going up the hill.
They stopped us because they said that land belonged to the state. And
Fr Jozo at that time, the parish priest was kneeling in the church,
saying to the Lord, "You are present in the Blessed Sacrament, and
people are passing by the church and heading up the hill towards those
thorny bushes, rocks and stones. We did not understand, because her
presence and her love transformed us and attracted us, and then we
started following her. Then the soldiers came, the army came and then
they stopped us from going up the hill. And so we asked Our Lady what we
should do, and Our Lady we said, "Go to the Church. There you will be
protected." And that is exactly what happened. We started praying. We
started asking in what way and how we could go to the church. We asked
three times, "Our Lady, to you mean the building?" That is because we
did not want to put Father Jozo in a difficulty. We knew that he was
very suspicious. And poor Fr. Jozo was praying in humility, Lord what am
I to do? And God spoke to him through the reading of Sacred Scripture.
He opened the Bible and read the lines "They are my beloved children."
In that moment we came into the church and we said, "Fr. Jozo, Our Lady
is sending us. We desire to listen to her message. And Our Lady said we
should pray and listen.
And so we
started to pray in the church until the moment when Our Lady appeared.
And then Our Lady told us what we were to do. She was saying to put
Jesus in the first place. Ask your priest to say Mass, and with so much
joy in our hearts, we said yes. And I remember that particular moment
at that time when the people here worked in the fields and we were all
children of peasants and we worked in the fields. But after their work
in the fields they would go home, wash and then come to the church. We
would pray the love and pray with the heart. And the church was
obedient. The living church, the church of people filled this building
of our church. There were people saying yes to Our Lady's call, yes to
God, yes to fasting, yes to daily mass, and then Our Lady understood
that she could count on us. And she said to us that she needed us. She
said she desired to present us to her Son as a most beautiful flower
bouquet.

One last piece of news!
Tonight, I was told that the statue in Vicka's parent's old house that
has been displaying unusual light was removed from its spot in the
prayer room by the parish. We do not know any details. But it is good to
know that the parish is involved in the phenomenon. More to come!!

Denis and I and our team
have been very busy in these first days in Medjugorje! The team was able
to redesign the studio, moving the equipment and setting up everything
in time for the Daily Rosary. It was great! Denis and I are very moved
to pray here in Medjugorje with our dear friends from around the world.
Each day so far, we have been joined in the studio by pilgrims who are
"in the boat!" and pray with us at home! It is an incredible joy to meet
here in Medjugorje with all of you!!
Another blessing was that
during our Rosary today, Marija was giving a talk at the Church! We are
so close that we could hear her from the studio! And KiKi filmed her
talk, and brought it back in time for us to stream it directly after the
Rosary today!! Wow! This is incredible!!! (Marija's talk is at the end
of Saturday's Rosary -9/28/13)
I have begun to transcribe Marija's talk, and here is the first part. Enjoy!!!
Marija gave a talk at the back of church on September 28, 2013 and filmed by Mary TV:
I would
like to in a special way, to invite you all to be closer to Our Lady
through this testimony I would like to give. I would love you to fall in
love with Our Lady as we fell in love with Our Lady when we started in
the first days of Our Lady's apparitions. We tried to put into practice
what Our Lady asked of us. We fell in love with her and we started
following her messages. Then, step by step, what Our Lady was saying
became a joy for us. We started living with joy what she was asking of
us. In the beginning we had difficulties doing it. I have to admit that
at the beginning we were not that used to prayer. But then, step by
step, as we fell in love with Our Lady, we started following her
directions.
As Our Lady
was in love with Jesus, she expected us to fall in love with him, and
we started praying and contemplating His beauty. And together with Our
Lady we started becoming closer to Jesus every day. Our Lady allowed us
to fall in love.
At the
beginning we said that we were not worthy. But step by step, she said
that God was allowing her to be present in our midst. And she said that
it was a gift that she was able to choose and invite us to be her
instruments. We started feeling important in her eyes. We started
feeling the joy of God. God was not far away, not up there in the
clouds, but we felt the God who is close to us. And that was the joy of
God.
We started
to pray with the heart as she has invited us. And to pray with the heart
was something that Our Lady, with all of her heart, asked of us. She
was inviting us all the time to more and more fall in love with God and
to be in love with the Church, and to pray until God would increase our
faith.
Our Lady
said to us that Faith is a gift. And we started, step by step, slowly to
live that gift. And we started living Our Lady's every day presence
here. We began with every day a lot of fear. Fear of not being worthy.
But at the same time, this was a communist country that we lived in and
there was also fear that we could die. But then, step by step, Our Lady
was strengthening us with prayer and her presence and her peace, as she
introduced herself as the Queen of Peace.
And Our
Lady today says to us that we have to be carriers of that peace with our
life and with our prayer. Our Lady invites us that each one of us
should make a decision for prayer through the daily personal conversion.
God in thousands of ways gives us signs that tell us "convert". Put God
in the first place in your life. Without God you do not have a future.
And you do not have eternal life. That is why she is inviting us to
abandon and leave behind the things of the world. She has been inviting
us to think about God. Try to find a balance between the material and
spiritual life, because now a days, between materialism, consumerism and
different ideologies, we are distancing ourselves from God. Our Lady
invites us to return to God, to return to the simplicity of our everyday
life.
In a
special way Our Lady has been inviting us to put God in the first place
in our life. Pray every day. And we started together with our Lady to
pray and to learn how to pray. At the beginning the Creed, 7 Our
Father's, 7 Hail Mary's, and 7 Glory Be's, the 7 as we call it, is the
prayer that we say here every day, at the Church of Medjugorje, in the
evening at the end of Holy Mass. We say the prayer of 7 Our Father's, 7
Hail Mary's, and 7 Glory Be's, and we say it on our knees. We say it as a
sign of thanksgiving to the Mother of God for her presence here in our
midst.
But Our
Lady asks us for more. She invites us to more. We said that we would
love to be even more in love with her and then Our Lady told us what to
do: "Pray the Rosary, because at the moment when you pray the Rosary
your heart is being opened, and I can intercede for you before my son so
that He may give you graces you are praying for." Our Lady started
inviting us to form prayer groups in our homes, in our families and in
our parishes. We can help one another in the journey of our spiritual
growth. There we can share our spiritual experiences and help one
another. And she invited us to choose a spiritual guide, a priest who
will be your spiritual guide. Who would be able to help you every day to
know how to go forward.
Our Lady
said to us that with prayer and fasting even wars can be stopped. And
this is what we experienced, we prayed and we fasted and we could see
the power of prayer and the power of fasting. As it is written in the
Sacred Scripture that certain evil spirits can only be cast out through
prayer and fasting, Our Lady said that good exists but also evil exists.
And Our Lady says that Satan does not only destroy our lives, but also
the planet on which we live. That is why Our Lady invites us to fast and
pray. We can fast in different ways. Kids can fast by giving up candies
or ice cream when it is hot. Our Maybe some games, because sometimes
they become dependent on those games. Even us, there are so many things
that we are attached to. And we are attacked by things from this
material world that enslave us. Our Lady invites us to fast so that we
could reach the level (which Our Lady invites us to) of fasting on bread
and water. If it is possible on those days that we pray in silence and
we fast until the Lord starts speaking within us.
These days
we have experienced the power of fasting and prayer. In a special way,
Pope Francis to fast and to pray, and the entire church was united in
this when we were praying for the grace of peace in Syria. And thanks be
to God we see through the politicians and in who knows what ways, God
heard our prayers. For sure God will hear our everyday prayer in which
we pray for little things in our lives. There are many times when there
is a war in the family. Maybe in your own heart you do not have peace.
When we Christians do not hear, we are far from God and the Sacraments.
Our Lady invites us to return to God. Without God we do not have God or

Marjia talks an awful lot
about falling in love with Our Lady. And I think that is the key to
everything. The visionaries have encountered Our Lady on a daily basis,
and they have really gotten to know her. They are now completely in love
with her. And so their lives are centered completely on living in that
love. This is what Our Lady wants to give us as well. She wants us to
learn to love her, so that in that love we can live with her the love
she has for God. We will be drawn into her love and that love will
direct us to God.
So, for now, I leave you with that one idea. Fall in love with Our Lady. That is the key!

Yesterday, Denis and I had
the joy of praying our Daily Rosary in our Medjugorje Studio with
several pilgrims, and our entire staff present. It was a little
different for Denis and me, because we are used to being "alone" in our
studio at home. We know that so many of you are praying with us, but we
can't see you, so I feel a little less shy!
Not today! We could see
pilgrims from Ireland, England, and the USA, face to face! But it only
took a moment to realize that these dear ones are our friends, our
companions on the road with Our Lady, and it was a comfort to be
together. It was great to have other voices joining ours as we prayed
the decades and their smiles encouraging us as we spoke!
As we prayed the Sorrowful
Mysteries, and we came to the fifth mystery, the Crucifixion and Death
of Jesus, I was reminded of something I wrote about a few weeks ago. It
was a quote from Sr. Briege McKenna. She said:
Our Lady is
the Queen of Prophets. I remember one day in prayer getting this
insight that at the foot of Calvary, that up until that moment Mary was
known as the mother of Jesus. She was the biological mother of Jesus.
That's what the people knew her as. At the very moment when Jesus said
to John, "Behold your mother..." I got a vision of Mary's heart just
expanding, so that the same love that she had for Jesus as a mother, at
that very moment, as a gift from the Father, she was given for each of
us. I said to Fr. Kevin, I had a sense of the tremendous love of the
mother, so that she wants to protect her children. She is absolutely
desperate. The Father gave her this mission at the foot of the Cross
through Jesus to be the Mother of all Humanity. So it is only right that
a mother will announce "Prepare yourself, keep away from danger, let me
show you the road." (Fruit of Medjugorje, Episode 30 - Sr. Briege
McKenna)

I am still amazed at the
power of Sr. Briege's vision. It makes sense out of so much! And as I
thought again about the Crucifixion, and Our Lady under the Cross,
suffering with Jesus, her heart expanding, I had the thought that just
as Our Lady's heart expanded with love for us at that moment, we could
ask for the grace that our hearts would expand as well, expand to be
able to accept Mary as our Mother just as John did. We could ask for the
grace to be her children, who love her as their true Mother. So we
prayed for that grace today during the Rosary.
As if to accentuate the reality of Mary's Motherhood, on Thursday
evening, Denis and I had the privilege of joining a pilgrimage group on
their last night in Medjugorje. Traditionally, on the last night, the
group will gather and share their experiences in Medjugorje. Almost
always, on the last night the group shows a big change from the
beginning of the pilgrimage. After several days in Our Lady's presence,
struggling up mountains and persevering through long rosaries and
masses, walking through the fields and sharing meals at the pension, the
group finds that their rough edges have been worn off, and they
actually fit together very well. They know each other very much like
family members know each other. They laugh together at their little
foibles, they cry together over their woundedness and loss, they smile
with such knowing smiles as they share their experiences. It is truly a
miraculous moment.
This group was no different.
Such joy, such laughter, and such deep sharing!! I felt so privileged
to join them. One woman shared that she felt that she was called on the
pilgrimage for one purpose, to go to confession. It was the perfect
priest, the perfect time, and the perfect message for her! Another woman
shared that she came from a background of abuse, and that her
pilgrimage was to pray for all those who were abused like she was, and
to forgive and be freed. Her face was filled with peace, and though she
cried, it was a cry of relief. All the sharings were deep, pure and
honest! It was incredible.
The group was made up of all
ages, many different nationalities and backgrounds, but they fit
together in a beautiful and harmonious community. This is the genius of
Our Lady! She shows us love, real love that can only exist in God. She
makes us family!

And so, after several hours
of rejoicing with this beautiful pilgrimage group, I went to bed, very
late, and very happy. And today was filled with Mary TV tasks! The
Rosary, filming another Fruit of Medjugorje testimony, and meeting as a
team. I must say that after Holy Mass tonight, I am beat!
So, for now, Ta Ta!! I will send another reflection tomorrow, and hope to have my act together by then!

PS. Here is a little report on the glowing statue in Vicka's house:
As we arrived in Medjugorje
on September 25, we were greeted with excitement about an unusual event
in Medjugorje. A statue of Our Lady of Lourdes in Vicka's childhood home
near Apparition Hill where Vicka has shared her testimony for years on
the blue steps had begun to glow with a soft greenish light. People from
the area had been filing through the little room with the statue during
the night to view this unusual event.
Vicka was interviewed by Slobodna Dalmacija,
the Croatian newspaper about this event. Here is a short synopsis of
this interview published by MedjugorjeToday.TV. It seems that Vicka
believes it is a sign for us:

"I was on
the road when my mother called and told me. I just told her, "This is
Our Lady's will. Pray!" Vicka tells the Croatian daily Slobodna Dalmacija.
"I neither asked [her], nor did she mention. She would tell me if it
was needed. But I believe that the light on the statue is just another
message of Our Lady to turn to the light, peace, joy, and prayer. Our
souls are filled with darkness, the world is immersed in the darkness"
Vicka says. "Our Lady has appeared here for so many years, she is
constantly sending us messages, and for us to understand them, we just
have to open our hearts to them. Any man can do that, and Our Lady
speaks to everyone".

Fundamentals! Our Lady
is all about fundamentals. In her messages, she gently but firmly leads
us with the basic and most important building blocks of life. She
wants us to be solidly built, headed in the right direction and equipped
to help others to do the same. And so she gives us simple and deep
advice in each message. Like a good mother, she moves us gently but
firmly in the right direction.
On Wednesday
(September 25), Denis and I arrived in Medjugorje, just as Holy Mass
was beginning. This message had just been given through Marija. We had
flown into Split on the same plane with Marija earlier in the day! And
so, this message seemed very special. We were really greeted by Our Lady
with this message! And it is a message we will use as our guide for
this pilgrimage. Our Lady's words are like a road map for this moment
for us.
She is calling Denis
and me to go back to the very foundation of our relationship with God.
She wants us to renew our daily call to prayer, to live that daily call
with open hearts and willing spirits, so that prayer can continue to
grow in us. If we hear nothing else in these days in Medjugorje, this
message will be sufficient. "Prayer works miracles..."
Prayer can make our stony hearts like flesh again. That is the miracle
we constantly need, and the miracle we will welcome during our
pilgrimage!
Thank you for praying
for us during our time in Vienna! It was awesome. I have only a few
pictures from St. Stephen's Cathedral, but I will share them with us,
and a little from our subsequent trip to Medjugorje. Tomorrow, I will begin to share more from Medjugorje!
