Dear Family of Mary!
"...For the sake of Jesus, for the sake of my Son, love those whom He has called and long for the blessing only from the hands which He has consecrated. Do not permit evil to come to reign. Anew I repeat - only alongside your shepherds will my heart triumph. Do not permit evil to separate you from your shepherds. Thank you." (Message to Mirjana, (09/02/13)
At the end of many of the
messages Our Lady gives through Mirjana, Our Lady has emphasized the
power of the priesthood, how much we should value and love our priests,
and the power of the priestly blessing. Here are some examples:
June 2, 2006: Our Lady
appeared to Mirjana this 2nd of the month and here is what Mirjana
shared with us: Our Lady blessed all present and all religious articles
that we brought for blessing. With a serious expression on her face, she
emphasized once again the priestly blessing. With pain and love she
said: "Remember, my children, that is my Son blessing you. Do not accept this so lightly."
April 2, 2007 ""Your shepherds need your prayers."
Our Lady blessed all of us, and all religious articles, and once again
emphasized that she gives her motherly blessing. But the greatest
blessing is the blessing from the priests.
June 02, 2012 "...
Every day I pray for the shepherds and I expect the same of you.
Because, my children, without their guidance and strengthening through
their blessing, you cannot do it. Thank you."
April 02, 2013 "...
Again I am warning you, pray for those whom my Son called, whose hands
He blessed and whom He gave as a gift to you. Pray, pray, pray for your
shepherds. Thank you."
July 02, 2013 "...
Dear children, extend the joy of love and support to your shepherds,
just as my Son has asked them to extend it to you. Thank you."
Clearly, the blessing
of our priests is very important. It is the blessing of Jesus. Our Lady
says we cannot make it in these days without the guidance and
strengthening of the priestly blessing. She says that Jesus has blessed
the hands of the priest, and that their blessing is a gift for us. Jesus
actually reaches out and touches us through the priest.
She also says that we
cannot look for blessing anywhere else. We may be puzzled by these
words, but I think she is simply saying that there is no other blessing
that will work good in our lives. The blessing of new age practices, the
blessing of the world, the blessing of money or power or prestige,
these blessings only bring us down. They are false blessings. We should
look for blessing only from God, and that blessing comes in a powerful
way through our priests, in the sacraments. We must look only to the
Church, her priests, and the Sacraments for blessing.
The power of the
priestly blessing is never more evident than in the Sacrament of
Reconciliation. Recently, in confession, I was led to bring up an old
sin from my youth. Though I had confessed it long before, I felt led to
bring it into the light one more time. As the priest spoke to me about
it and prayed absolution over me, I felt something leave me. It was a
heaviness, a burden that I had carried all those years. It was for me a
deliverance. I left the confessional feeling many years younger, and
much lighter indeed. What a joy to be delivered by the blessing of the
priest.
This is the power of
the priestly blessing. Jesus is able to reach into our souls and heal
them, deliver them through His priests. Incredible!!
May we stay connected
to our shepherds, in love and support. May we receive their blessing
with great anticipation and openness. May we be delivered and healed
through their intercession and blessing. And may we all rejoice at what
the Lord is doing in our midst!!
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
