Do not be afraid. You are not alone.

Dear Family of Mary!
"Dear children...You must learn to keep rejecting everything that distances you from God's word and to yearn only for that which draws you closer to it. Do not be afraid. I am here. You are not alone. I am imploring the Holy Spirit to renew and strengthen you. I am imploring the Holy Spirit that, as you help others, you too may be healed. I am imploring Him that, through Him, you may be God's children and my apostles..." (Message to Mirjana, (09/02/13)
Reading these words of Our
Lady, we can only be encouraged. She has joined us in the midst of our
daily struggles. Like a mother, she is not far from us. She is here! She
is present to us, with us in our daily lives. From morning to night,
she is involved. At work, at rest, at prayer, whatever we are doing, she
is there with us. And not only is she with us, she is praying for us at
all times. Her heart overflows with love for us, and her heartfelt
prayers draw down upon us the Holy Spirit, her Spouse!
She counsels us not to be afraid. What might we be afraid of? She gives us clues.
We may fear losing the
things we choose that distance us from God's word. We may fear letting
go of our addictions, our unhealthy desires, our habits that are based
on selfish appetites and feed our emptiness within. Though we may be
aware that our unhealthy habits are ultimately hurting us, we may feel
attached to those desires. Our personal safety and security may be
unwisely based on those desires. And so we can feel fear when we imagine
life without them. Alcohol, drugs, food, disordered sexual desires,
love of money, etc. - all these things can create a false peace in us, a
peace that never really satisfies or lasts. Our Lady wants us to let go
of those things, so that we can become firmly attached to God's word,
His way for us.
And so she is with us, here
with us, to help us. She wants to accompany us on our road of
renunciation, so that we can become free. In the Cenacolo Community (a
community founded by Mother Elvira to help free those addicted to drugs)
new members who join are given a partner. This person is an older
member who has become free. This person is assigned to stay with the new
member 24 hours a day. Sleeping, eating, working, praying, all day long
the "guardian angel" stays with the new member. They are never alone.
Why? Because in the presence of the guardian angel, the new member is
unable to cheat, to feed the old appetites. The new member must live in
the light, in the presence of the older member. The older member prays
for the new one, encourages him, shares the trails with him. And slowly,
the change can take place. The old desires can wan, and the new desire
to live on God's word, in God's grace, can take over. It works.
And I believe that Our Lady
wants to be our "guardian angel" in very much the same way. She urges us
to reject everything that distances us from God's word. And she tells
us she is with us, she is here, praying for us to the Holy Spirit,
praying for us to be healed, to be renewed, to become God's children.
She is our "guardian angel", and we are the new members of God's family!
She will not leave our side so that we can learn to live in the light!
No more fear, no more
darkness, no more loneliness, no more addiction. We are in the heavenly
community, where Our Lady is with us to help us be transformed into
children of God. I am really excited about this!!! What a blessing!
Let's give ourselves
completely to this beautiful Mother who is with us, to help us, to pray
for us continuously. Let's let her take over and retrain us into the
joyful people we were meant to be. This is the time of grace!!
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
