Go and tell the priests to build a chapel here

In Lourdes (France) on the morning of Tuesday, March 2, 1858, the 13th apparition of the Virgin Mary to the young Bernadette Soubirous took place. That morning, at the usual hour, Bernadette had a brief vision of the Lady. About 3,000 people had the good fortune to be present. The Lady renewed her message of February 27th, saying: "Go and ask the priests to build a chapel here ..." but this time she added: "As soon as possible, even if it is very small. I want the people to come here in procession."

Bernadette, who had already been scolded a couple of times by the parish priest, found the courage to go talk to him twice that day, in the morning and in the evening. She accomplished this disagreeable task because she loved the Lady. To the one who loves anything is possible. “One who loves,” says Bernadette, “does not notice his trials; or perhaps more accurately, he is able to love them.”

So Bernadette spoke to Father Peyramale, parish priest of Lourdes. The latter wanted to know one thing—the name of the Lady. He also required some proof. He wanted to see the rose bush at the grotto bloom in winter.
