Dear Family of Mary!
Today
we will receive a message from Our Lady, Queen of Peace, through
Marija. This regular Monthly Message is very important. It is the public
message that Our Lady gives to us to guide us in our growth towards
holiness and heaven. Our Lady began these monthly messages in January of
1987 and they have come to us faithfully all these years through the
visionary Marija. We have been given so much grace through the monthly
messages. I, for one, would feel it keenly if Our Lady would stop giving
these messages. They have helped me year in and year out to manage my
life in the light of God's grace. Our Lady is a very good spiritual
director!!
As
we wait for the message later today, here is a message that was given
through Ivan, at an evening of prayer in Padua, Italy on August 21,
2014. Ivan's messages are given for those who are with him for the
apparition, but they are truly helpful for all of us. This message is
particularly meaningful:
The message of the Virgin Mary given on August 21st during the apparition to Medjugorje seer Ivan Dragicevic in Padua, Italy:
"Dear children, also today again I call you to holiness. Pray, dear children, for the sanctity of the family. Pray, dear children, for prayer to enter your families and become a joy for you. Rejoice in prayer, so that with prayer, dear children, you can have this full and deep peace. For with prayer, dear children, you allow the Holy Spirit to descend into your heart and bring you new strength and light in your life. Pray, pray, pray, dear children, open yourselves and you will get this. I pray, and I ask my Son to grant you this gift. Thank you, dear children, because also today you have responded to my call."

It is very comforting to know that "with
prayer, dear children, you allow the Holy Spirit to descend into your
heart and bring you new strength and light in your life." In
these troubled times we need new strength every day, and new light as
well. To move ahead in peace, we must be nourished by God, through His
spirit. All things are possible with God. So when He comes to us,
descends into our hearts, we are made strong!
Let us pray, "Come, Holy Spirit!" And let us await the Monthly Message with great joy!

In a reflection sent to AsiaNews, the bishop of Vasai, Chairman of the Commission for Ecumenical and Interreligious Dialogue of the Federation of Asian Bishops 'Conferences (FABC) and the Office for Ecumenism and Dialogue of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI), reflects on what is happening in Iraq. Msgr. Machado's call to prayer is echoed by Card. Oswald Gracias, archbishop of Mumbai, who asks "all the faithful to pray for peace and for an end to senseless violence" that has forced more than 200 thousand people to flee their homes.
The grave catastrophic tragedy in Iraq deeply impacts the core of Religious people, not just Christians. This destruction going on in Iraq destroys homo religiosus, the very nature of human being who is religious, found in all "historico-cultural contexts", thus all humanity and this ceaseless mindless assault in Iraq is dehumanizing and a grave threat to all humanity.
Many horrors that have beset Iraq as Islamic State (IS) fighters rampage through the country. -, taking hostage of the situation and exploiting the most vulnerable and weak of society. These attacks are destroying Iraq not only materially, but also destroyed their moral.
As FABC President of the Commission for Ecumenical and Inter-religious Dialogue-The aspect of inter religious dialogue, it is all minorities that are targeted, this is a message for the wider world, wherever people are in minority more oppression is done to these people. Finally, I am a Christian and my heart goes out to my baptized brothers and sisters, who are suffering previously this tragedy.
ISIS's targeted brutality and persecution of Christians is grave human rights violation. The Christian population of Iraq is one of the oldest in the world, but this Christian'o-phobia is destroying the historic and human legacy of Iraq. . Iraq is heading towards the total destruction of its historic religious history. The Iraq Christians population has been completely displaced; the unthinkable atrocities committed against the Iraq women and children a "total depravity"
From the 4th August, (Vianney Day), the priests and lay faithful have been praying daily for the Iraq Christians and the situation in Iraq. However, on 22nd August, I will spend time in personal prayer for the Iraq Christians. On the Feast of the Queenship of Mary, - for our Iraqi Christians who have coexisted harmoniously have brought Peace to Muslims and Christians, together with other Iraqi minorities, for all Iraq.
Mary - The Queen of Heaven is our only Hope. Mary is very respected by the Muslims. She is the model of faith for Muslims. Mary's faith is extolled by Muslims. Queen of Heaven has a tremendous influence on the millions of Muslims. Mary is mentioned no less than 34 times in the Koran. In addition, the 19th surah (chapter) of the Koran is named after her. Based on these facts alone, it is apparent that "Our Lady" is surely seen as blessed above all women by orthodox Muslims.
Mary is a gentlewoman, the woman of the Magnificat, the woman of the poor, the woman of those who are oppressed. A woman who represents those who are abandoned, who are marginalized. She is a gentle woman, unshaken by her faith in God".

Feast of the Queenship of Mary!
Dear Family of Mary!
Our
Lady is a Queen. She is comfortable with this title. When introducing
herself to the visionaries in Medjugorje, she called herself a queen:
"I am the Queen of Peace." (Thursday, August 6, 1981)
She
is comfortable with this title because she was given it by God the
Father! And she has received her position as Queen of Heaven and Earth
due to her election as Mother of Jesus, the Savior and King of the
Universe! Fr. William Most explains it very well in a short article
found on the EWTN website. He quotes Pope Pius XII:
The
solidly theological reasons for her title of Queen are expressed
splendidly by Pius XII, in his Radio message to Fatima, Bendito seja
(AAS 38. 266): "He, the Son of God, reflects on His heavenly Mother the
glory, the majesty and the dominion of His kingship, for, having been
associated to the King of Martyrs in the unspeakable work of human
Redemption as Mother and cooperator, she remains forever associated to
Him, with a practically unlimited power, in the distribution of the
graces which flow from the Redemption. Jesus is King throughout all
eternity by nature and by right of conquest: through Him, with Him, and
subordinate to Him, Mary is Queen by grace, by divine relationship, by
right of conquest, and by singular choice [of the Father]. And her
kingdom is as vast as that of her Son and God, since nothing is excluded
from her dominion."

Pretty
awesome!! Don't you just love it! "Queen by grace, by divine
relationship, by right of conquest, and by singular choice [of the
Father]." God the Father is the maker and breaker of kings and queens,
and He has chosen Our Lady to be the Queen of Heaven and Earth. And I
love the added reason, that she is queen by "right of conquest". This
conquest was the victory over sin and death that Our Lady contributed to
by her submission to Jesus and her courageous cooperation with Him. Our
Lady chose to suffer with Jesus, and to go the way of the Cross with
Him, so that all could be saved by Him. She cooperated perfectly with
Jesus' act of redemption. And so she has the "right of conquest". Wow!
She really is a mighty queen.
I
wish we had been able to do a novena in honor of this feast today!
Maybe today we can honor Our Lady by saying nine times the Salve Regina
(Hail Holy Queen)! We love you, dearest Queen, and we submit to you all
that we are and have, so that your rule will prevail in our hearts, and
we can serve Jesus, our King, through your help.
Hail, holy Queen
Hail,
holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To
thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee to we send up our
sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most
gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our
exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O
loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let
us pray. Almighty and everlasting God, Who by the working of the Holy
Spirit didst prepare both body and soul of the glorious Virgin Mother,
Mary, that she might deserve to be made a worthy dwelling for Thy Son,
grant that we who rejoice in her memory, may, by her loving
intercession, be delivered from present evils and from lasting death,
through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Family of Mary!
Here
is Part Two of the talk by Fr. Petar Ljubicic given in Medjugorje
earlier this year. He tells of some powerful stories about pilgrims in
Medjugorje. Fr. Petar is convinced that Our Lady is acting in a powerful
way in Medjugorje. Here is Part Two:
The
great message here is that message of conversion. Our Lady says that if
we desire to have peace in ourselves every day, then every day we have
to convert. And to convert it means to change, to be better. To be at
peace with God and with our brothers and sisters. To be at peace with
yourself. That means to renounce the sin and to stop committing sin, and
every day to do that. Conversion for us is always a feeling that God is
here and that He desires to make us happy and desires to change me.
That is why God, all the time, is calling us and searching for us. Truly
conversion is God's gift that He gives to every person who is looking
for it.
In
the same way, conversion is a conviction that God can change us and
that He can come to us. Conversion is a permanent search for God. To
convert it means to understand that God exists and that He is the
greatest value of your live. If someone has experienced God and
understood that God is the most important for him, then that person is
on the right pathway. That means that my life has meaning and my life is
in accordance with the plan of God for me. God's plan for each one of
us, for each one of you is that you get to know Him and Love Him, to
abandon yourselves completely to Him and that you expect everything from
Him, and in return He will give you joy satisfaction and peace. The
essence of conversion is to admit that I am weak, sinful, and I make
mistakes. That is why I repent sincerely, and I say to God, "Lord help
me to become different." When we receive forgiveness from God we can
live a new life.
How
many people have experienced their conversion here? Only God knows
that number!! Many have said that they do not know what would have
happened to them and their lives if they hadn't come to Medjugorje and
experienced conversion and a new life here. It is important to allow God
to change us. God can't wait to give us new life and to help us!
One
young Italian shared with me the following: He was an addict, a great
sinner, he thought he was the greatest sinner of the world. When His
friends said that Mary was appearing here, it was his last hope. He
desired to come here. Three times he wanted to commit suicide, but here
in this place he understood that God wanted him to live. He came to
Medjugorje and prayed before the statute of Our Lady, and he prayed,
"Jesus, I implore you to help me. Our Lady, you are the Mother of Jesus,
pray to your Son to help me. I am your disobedient, sinful child. But I
know that your Son has helped many. He came to the world because of
sinners and the sick. Help me, help me. Pray, so that your Son will have
mercy on me."
He
heard in his heart a voice that said "Go to confession". He found a
priest and he went to Confession. He said he would never forget those
moments of Confession because in the Confession he saw in the priest,
Jesus Christ, who had love and a heart for him. He felt that Jesus was
happy because he was becoming a new man. "I shared all my sins with the
priest and I had the feeling that Jesus was forgiving me and saying to
continue to mention the list of my sins. In that confession I really
experienced that God is love and mercy. That is the Love that loves you
and forgives you. The Love that saves you and sets you free. That is our
God and our Faith. That young man said to me "I am happy that I am here
and that God gave me a new life, and every year I come back here to
give Him thanks." That is what Medjugorje is about, a place where man
meets God and where he starts living a new life.
That
is why we should be grateful to God. Many experience here not only
their conversion but also their spiritual healing. Many have decided to
abandon themselves completely to God. Above all it is important that we
are always open to God's grace. That every day we read the Sacred
Scripture. Our Lady in a special way said that in the families, and I
believe most of you live in families, that every family has to say their
family prayers and read the Sacred Scripture and go to Holy Mass. We
see that families nowadays are in crisis. There is less and less love in
families. It is quite rare nowadays to find a happy family. These
moments are difficult for families, and crucial moments for families.
Since families are wounded, unhappy and sick. We have to pray for
families to be healed. We have to pray so that they overcome the crises
they are in.
One
lady, Anna Katerina, said that she was a woman who went regularly to
the disco. For a few hours she said she was happy. Then after that she
would be sad and unhappy. And Her brother was addicted to alcohol. Her
mother heard about Medjugorje, and she asked them to come with her to
this place. "We came here as a family. And here we experienced how many
people were praying and going to Confession. We decided to stay for a
few days and to prepare ourselves for that moment [Confession] with God
and we did it. And I experienced a meeting with God. I found Jesus, and
in Him I found happiness and joy and I discovered how much Jesus wanted
to make me happy. Then I decided to consecrate my life to God. My whole
family now praises the Lord. My brother is freed from addiction to
alcohol."
These
apparitions are helping each one of us to think about our own salvation
and our own return to God. Do not be afraid to surrender yourselves to
God for Him to guide you. If you know every moment of your life why you
are here on earth and what your task is, you can be sure of your
salvation. Our Lady says that Jesus loves us immensely and she loves us
with the same love. That is why she says "I want all of you to come to
heaven. Come with one gift, the gift of holiness." And the one who is on
the way of holiness is a happy man. He doesn't have to be afraid of
anything. To be holy doesn't mean anything else but to do the will of
God always. As we say in the Our Father, "May your will be done.' Then
you can be a happy person.
And
God, when you pray to Him, gives you even more than you could wish for
yourself or pray for yourself. The will of God is His eternal plan for
each one of us and the entire humanity. The will of God is his eternal
love for us. Each one of us is the will of God. He wanted us to be born
and to live. That is why never rebuke to God that your life is difficult
and full of crosses. But give thanks to God for everything and allow
God to be glorified through your pain and suffering.
Nancy
L. came to Medjugorje and she was sick. She came from America. She was
in a wheel chair. Four difficult surgeries were performed on her but
they did not good, in fact they made her worse. She prayed during an
apparition to Ivan, and she prayed, "Our Lady, I know that you love me.
And I know that you are appearing here. And I love you too. Help me to
get to know the will of God. To say to God 'Lord let your will be done
with my difficult life.'" And at the time of the apparition, that lady
was healed. She even said that she prayed for one little boy who was 5
years old and had cancer. She was saying for 8 years I have been
suffering and in pain, but Lord save this little boy. Heal this little
boy. So when you pray for someone else and you desire that God will give
to someone else what you desire for yourself, pray, pray, and you will
be given all you ask from the Lord. But pray with faith and trust. God
will hear your prayer and will hear your promises.
We
pray that the Lord may hear all your prayers and intentions, and all
your desires will be heard. We pray through the intercession of Our
Lady, Queen of Peace, that God will give you all that you desire, all
that you need and is for your good. May he save you all!
Conversion,
prayer, Holy Mass, Confession, and the Word of God in Scripture...these
are the elements of a happy life, a fulfilled life, a life with God.
These are the gifts we receive in Medjugorje. Our Lady is with us to
bring us into the fullness of life! Thank you, dear Blessed Mother.

ICEJ: ISIS Issues Bloody Challenge as Recruitment Surges
The Islamic State (IS, formally ISIS) terror militia posted a video on Tuesday entitled "A Message To America," apparently showing the beheading of US journalist James Foley, who disappeared while covering the conflict in Syria two years ago. IS gunmen also appeared in the video threatening Steven Sotloff, another missing US journalist they claimed to be holding and declared that he would be executed next unless their demands, including a cessation of US military strikes on their positions in northern Iraq, were met. The authenticity of the video could not be immediately confirmed. Meanwhile, a leading Moslem cleric in Saudi Arabia declared IS to be an “enemy of Islam” on Tuesday, but the group continued to attract thousands of new recruits from all over the world, according to witnesses in Syria and Iraq.
Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh, Saudi Arabia’s most senior Sunni cleric, issued a public statement that IS and Al Qaeda were the worst enemies of Islam, adding that Moslems were always their first victims.
Despite this statement and similar proclamations from Moslem authorities in Egypt and other countries, the ranks of IS continue to swell. Witnesses in Raqqa, the IS stronghold in Syria, told Reuters this week that as many as 6,300 new recruits have joined IS in the last month, with many coming from other Islamist rebel groups which have been battling the regime of President Bashar Assad for the last three years.
Meanwhile, Islamist terrorist groups in other countries, including one in the Philippines, have pledged their allegiance to IS in recent days.

After their son disappeared in 2012, they launched the FreeJamesFoley.org website to serve as a clearinghouse for information that might lead to his release. In October 2013, they joined Today's Matt Lauer to wish their still-in-captive son a happy 40th birthday and to keep his cause alive. Even when interviewers noted that Foley's career took him to many volatile places, his father was quick to defend him.
"He's not reckless," John Foley said. "He's been doing this conflict reporting for almost eight years."
The Foleys said Wednesday that their son was the oldest of their five children and that his attraction to reporting from wartorn areas came from having brothers who served in the military.
They appear to be family held together by faith. In their appearance in front of their home on Wednesday, John and Diane Foley made frequent references to God. Their local paper, Foster's Daily Democrat, reported that their pastor, Rev. Paul Gousse of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, visited the family after word spread of Foley's death. Journalist Max Fisher of Vox described Foley as a person of quiet but strong faith.
Fisher said "Jim's faith was something we all agreed not to discuss publicly while he was held in Syria, but it was the wellspring of his generosity," Fox reported.

As ISIS videotaped the brutal beheading of an American journalist, its spokesman, in perfect English, warned President Obama and the American people that more deaths are coming if the US does not submit to their demands. The President’s tepid response this afternoon was disappointing.

Dear Family of Mary!
I want to share with you the transcript of a talk by Father Petar Ljubicic,
given at St. James church earlier this year. He is the priest chosen by
Mirjana to announce the secrets as they unfold. He speaks of the main
messages and how they enable us to find peace. This is "Part One" of his
talk:
She
has come to us as the Queen of Peace, to bring us peace. We all are in a
great need of peace. We can't be happy without peace. That is why we
desire to pray the way Our Lady prayed. We desire to be like her. No one
but her in that fullness fulfilled the will of God. No one like her,
loved God above all things. And we also desire in the same way to love
our God.
That
is why we ask you, Jesus, to lay your divine hand upon everyone present
here. Just say that Word, and that Word is powerful. It is divine. Your
Word can set us free. Your word can heal us. Your word can save us. You
are our only and true way. You are the only truth that sets us free.
You are the fullness of life. Thank you Jesus for that. Mary, pray for us
and pray with us. So that we could have in your Son what our heart
desires. And that is joy and peace, happiness and salvation. Glory
be....
Here
you are on holy ground in the place where Our Lady has been appearing
for so long. Why so long? Thirty two years. We do not know that in any
other place there were apparitions happening so long and to so many
visionaries. We know how she appeared in Lourdes. She appeared to one
visionary and for a brief period of time. In Fatima she appeared to
three visionaries, and it was also for a brief period of time. When the
difficult moments for the Church and for humanity come, Jesus sends his
Mother. Because He desires to encourage us and to help us, to show us
the way out of this chaos that we find ourselves in.
Never
was humanity in a greater crisis than now. Never before were we so
unhappy and unsatisfied. Never before were we as sinful and sick as we
are now. So then, we must expect help to come to us. Our Lady comes to
us as the Queen of Peace. The world doesn't need anything more than it
needs peace. Our soul needs peace. Our heart needs peace, and our life
needs peace. We could have everything and yet if we do not have peace,
we feel unsatisfied.
Our
Lady, our Mother, she knows all that and that is why she is bringing
true peace for us. Peace is truly the gift of God. Peace is the work of
the Holy Spirit. God gives that gift without expense. But we have to
fulfill conditions to enable our heart to search for peace and for God.
The person who purifies his heart from evil and sin is the one who can
have peace. That is why we have Holy Confession. In Holy Confession we
can speak to God about our problems, our restlessness and our sins. We
can talk about our failures and about our sins. Our Divine Savior is
merciful, He forgives us. We repent and He forgives us when we repent.
That is why Holy Confession, our spiritual resurrection, brings us peace
and joy.
With
sin, we broke our connection with God and when we go back to God through
Confession, with every word we receive peace. This place has become the
confessional of the world. To come here and to go to confession means
to find peace and to find Jesus. Many here have found their peace and
happiness and joy because they went to have a good confession. What joy
when a person says to you that "all my life I was searching for peace
and when I went to confession, I received it." People often say "I was
waiting for 40 years to come here and through confession to give all I
have to the Lord." When I hear these things, truly my heart is full of
love for God and my heart is joyful. God is so close to us in this
Sacrament of Mercy.
Our
Lady has come to invite us to Confession, and to go to Confession
often, every time we feel there is a burden of sin in our soul. She said
it would be good to go to Confession on a monthly basis. We have to
clean our houses from time to time, we have to clean ourselves from time
to time. But also in that same way we have to purify our soul. When we
go to bed, we have to repent of our sins. When we go to Holy Mass we do
that. But we have to be all the time with the Lord, so we repent so we
can be full of joy and happiness. That is the fullness of life!
Peace
is more than when we say "Oh, I'm at peace with everyone. I don't owe
anyone anything." That is why we must pray for peace. To get peace here
it means to receive and find the meaning of life. In order to have
peace, Our Lady has been calling and telling us that only God can give
peace. That is why she says to us "I have come to wake you up in faith,
so that you may understand that to believe in God means to give the
first place in your life to God." Faith is having trust in God. We must
surrender ourselves to God. We pray to the Lord to give us strength and
encouragement. That is why to believe in God means as Our Lady says to
us, to abandon ourselves completely to God and put ourselves at God's
disposal and to be able to believe in Him. To believe in our heart, our
thoughts and our reason, to be close to God. If we open ourselves this
way to God we enable God's will to come into us. And then we bear the
fruits that God desires. With every act of faith, Jesus I believe in
you. Through that act the power of God comes into us and His Spirit
enables us to do His work. We know that through Faith God dwells in our
heart. And because of that we feel saved and joyful.
Our
Lady has been teaching us for more than 32 years how to believe. Faith
is a gift, a grace, but we have to nourish it and cherish it. When we
celebrate Holy Mass with joy and we pray, especially the prayer of the
Holy Rosary, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, in love, when we receive
Jesus Christ during Holy Communion, then our faith is stronger and our
faith grows. Our Lady has said to us, "Dear children, believe and pray
so that God may multiply your faith." Then she said, "Search and look
for all that you need. God will give you everything, because when you
are far from God you cannot experience God's closeness." With our living
faith we come to God and we can experience God. Our Lady said in one of
the messages that every day she prays for us and desires for us to come
closer and closer to God. But she can't bring us closer if we are far
away and we do not want it. That is why she said, put your life in God's
hands.
It
is very important to preserve our faith and to fight any doubt.
Sometimes we do have difficulties when it comes to faith. Sometimes some
people have great temptation of doubt. In those moments it is good to
recall Thomas, who did not believe, and to say, "Lord help my weak
faith."
A
few years ago I met a young man in here in Medjugorje and he said that
because of Medjugorje, he was given a gift of faith. He started to live
the life of a Christian. He said, "I lived without faith and without
God. Then a book came to my hand that spoke about Our Lady in Medjugorje
and her apparitions. For me that was good news. There is heaven. And
there is Our Lady. And she is appearing to someone. And she speaks about
Jesus Christ, about the Savior. When I spoke to a priest, he said to me
that he had been in Medjugorje and he believed that Our Lady was
appearing here. Then I asked him if he could help me to become a
Catholic too. And then the priest prepared him for almost a year. And
during that time the young man said he was reading the Catechism of the
Catholic Church and Sacred Scripture, and he admitted that this helped
him to become a Catholic. That was a great gift for him. And he said,
"Now I know why I live and where I will go after death. Faith is truly
an enormous gift of God." And the young man said "Now I wonder how it
was possible to live my life for 25 years without God. Now I have come
here to give thanks to Our Lady and Our Lord for my life!"
Fr.
Petar speaks with authority about the messages. He is convinced of the
power that comes to us when we live Our Lady's main messages. Confession
and the gift of faith together give us tremendous peace and strength to
live. Like the young man we may all say, "Now I wonder how it was
possible to live without God, without out the gift of faith and the
Sacrament of Confession!"
