[MaryVitamin] Our Lady's Patience

Mary Vitamin for June 8th

Topic: Our Lady's Patience

Quote:
St. John Eudes
"If you would follow our [Blessed Mother]  in her patience, strive earnestly to overcome your anger and your impatience in the unpleasant accidents which often happen in this life. Receive every-thing as from the hand of God and bear all patiently for His love."

Meditation:
Overcoming anger + Receiving everything from the hand of God = Patience

St. Francis de Sales on overcoming anger:
"It is safer, then, to avoid all anger, rather than to try and guide our anger with discretion and moderation. As soon as you feel the slightest resentment, gather together your powers, not hastily or impetuously, but gently and seriously. But I would have you remember, that when we pray to be delivered from the anger with which we are struggling, we should pray gently and calmly, without excitement, and so with all the other remedies we may adopt against this evil."
Introduction to the Devout Life, (Tan Books), 140-41

Resolution:
Today I will be on the lookout for those unpleasant accidents so that I may begin to practice Our Lady's patience. I will be able to notice an "accident" as coming from the hands of God, if I am also keeping my internal anger temperature as low as possible.

Marian Vow:
"In the apostolate let there always reign harmony among the members of every M.I.M. Cenacle, among the diverse Cenacles, and among the groups under diverse Franciscan families, in organizing public demonstrations (for example pilgrimages, retreats, assemblies, congresses...) especially of a eucharistic or Marian character, to meet and fraternize.
So, too, let harmony and charity always be safeguarded with other ecclesiastical groups, whether parochial or diocesan, regional or national, and let the tertiaries be a leaven of peace and fraternal charity everywhere among all men."
Marian Seraphic Pathways, Traccia #56

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.
