WINDSOR, Ont. — Windsor's famous "weeping" Virgin Mary statue may be safely ensconced in a local church, but its hordes of faithful admirers are showing few signs of abating.

The statue, which is said to weep tears of healing oil, has drawn about 500 busloads of curious Christians to the church since it was relocated from a resident's home nearly a month ago, the church's pastor said Tuesday.

Rev. Nohra Seif, the pastor of St. Charbel Maronite Catholic Church, said buses have arrived from Cleveland, Detroit, London, Kitchener, Toronto and Oshawa.

"Maybe the people are thirsty for peace and they came to ask the Virgin Mary to help them," Seif said
