All Saints Day
Dear Family of Mary!
"Dear children! I am with you and I rejoice today because the Most High has granted me to be with you and to teach you and to guide you on the path of perfection. Little children, I wish you to be a beautiful bouquet of flowers which I wish to present to God for the day of All Saints. I invite you to open yourselves and to live, taking the saints as an example. Mother Church has chosen them that they may be an impulse for your daily life. Thank you for having responded to my call!" (October 25, 1994)
This feast of All Saints is
such a joy. Today we can give thanks for all the saints in heaven. They
have been helping us all year, interceding for us and sending special
help our way when we need it. Their job in heaven is to help us, the
Church Militant, as we struggle on in the fight for God's Kingdom. And
boy, do we need them!
One way to invoke the help
of the saints is to pray the Litany to the Saints. St. Faustina was once
asked by Jesus to pray the Litany of the Saints for her country,
Poland:
57 1933. On one occasion I heard these words in my soul.
Make a novena for your country.
This novena will consist of the recitation of the Litany of the Saints.
Ask your confessor for permission [probably Father Sopocko or Father Andrasz].
58 I
received permission at my next confession and began the novena that
very evening. Towards the end of the litany I saw a great radiance and,
in the midst of it, God the Father. Between this radiance and the earth I
saw Jesus, nailed to the Cross in such a way that when God wanted to
look at the earth, He had to look through the wounds of Jesus. And I
understood that it was for the sake of Jesus that God blesses the earth.
St. Faustina responded to
the inspiration of the Lord. Her obedience, and the prayers of the
saints surely made a difference for her country.
We too have countries that
are in need of much mercy and grace. May we respond to the inspirations
we receive, and invoke the saints to help us pray for our countries and
for the whole world, so much in need of conversion and grace.
