Mary Vitamin for March 9th
I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Topic: The Compassion of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Quote:
The Blessed Virgin Mary at the Wedding Feast of Cana
"They have no wine"
Meditation:
Blessed Teresa of Calcutta
(Transcribed from an audio CD Mary, the Handmaid of the Lord available from http://www.lighthousecatholicmedia.com/ )
"I think this is the beautiful compassion of the woman's heart: To feel the hurt of others and to do something as she did. You and I, in our hearts have that compassion. Do we really use it? Do we have the eyes of Mary to see the needs of others? Maybe in our own homes, do we know the needs of our parents, of our husbands, our children? Do the children come home with us as Jesus went home with Mary? Do we have a home for our children? And again we know what happened to Our Lady, the wonderful compassionate Mother, full of love, she was not ashamed to claim Jesus as her Son. Everyone left Him. She was alone with Him. She was not ashamed that Jesus was scourged, spat upon. That he had become like a leper, unloved, unwanted, hated by all. But He was her Son."
Resolution:
Do I have the eyes of Mary filled with compassion?
Today, one time, I will look for an opportunity to see with the eyes of Mary and bring someone's suffering to the Lord in prayer.
Marian Vow:
From the Seven Biblical Guideposts, #4
"It is the mission of the Mother who prays and works as Mediatrix in union with her Son in order to assist her needy children, especially in the more significant moments of life (at the wedding feast: John 2:1 ff), obtaining, if need be, even a miracle."
A life of intercessory prayer.
I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Thanks be to God for graces received.
