Mary Vitamin for March 24th
Topic: The Blessed Virgin Mary's love for St. Joseph in the Flight into Egypt
Quote:
"Oh, how Mary's heart was poured out in love and admiration upon this trophy of God's sweetest, gentlest graces!"
Father Faber, The Foot of the Cross, (Tan Books), 119-20.
Meditation:
"And then like a transplanted flower in a new climate, Joseph gave out such new light, such fresh fragrance, such altered blossoms, such different fruits. His soul was more beautiful than ever, and with the brightness of its beauty grew the intensity of Mary's love..."
Father Faber, The Foot of the Cross, (Tan Books) 120.
Resolution:
Our Lady didn't have to suffer alone in all of Her seven sorrows. St. Joseph, the trophy of God's sweetest graces, kept her company in three of the seven. I will think of Our Lady's admiration and love of St. Joseph during the exile in Egypt. I will imitate Our Lady in Her love of St. Joseph.
I will think of Our Lady sharing Her trophy with me today during my struggles.
Marian Vow:
"It is praiseworthy to dedicate each Wednesday to St. Joseph, with the recitation of the Seven Sorrows and the Seven Joys of St. Joseph, a devotion widespread in the Churches of Franciscans."
Marian Seraphic Pathways, #31, p94

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Thanks be to God for graces received.
