Dr. Zambrano,

Please pass on to our readers the sad news of Josyp Terelya's passing last night in Toronto following dinner at a restaurant.

He had just left the restaurant when he suddenly had a heart attack.

This was confirmed to me by his daughter Marianna who was contacted following this sad event, however Josyp for a number of years had been having heart problems for which he had surgery in Moscow, and also in the United States.

Bishop Roman Danylak his spiritual director and co-author with Michael H. Brown of his famous book "Witness," a biography of his life, involving imprisonment by the Communist Government for his activities as the leader of the underground Ukranian Catholic Church, was reportedly saved by the Virgin Mary, when he was put in a freezing cell to die.

The Virgin is said to have visited with him and brought him warmth, also telling him he had more to suffer, but eventually would be exiled to Toronto Canada, whose prophesy was fulfilled, and President Gorbachev granted him a permit to leave Russia.

His wife Olena Terelya passed on some five years ago, after my wife Carol and I visited with her in the hospital with Josyp, Bishop Roman Danylak, children Marianna and son Pavlo, Fr. Jerry Ikolowich( Ukranian) and his wife Barbara, who are now at The Mother of God Ukranian Catholic Church in Conyers Georgia.

Funeral arrangements are currently being made for his burial in Toronto.

Please pray for his soul.

Ave Maria.

Roy and Carol Tenn.

May the souls of the faithful departed, especially Josyp Terelya, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Deacon John
