SCRIPTURE COMMENTARY #505
"In my Father's house there are many mansions. If not, I would have told you: because I go to prepare a place for you. And if I shall go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself: that where I am, you also may be." (John 14:2-3)
HEAVEN: There is a heaven, and our Lord in the most distinct terms promises the possession of it to those who love Him. He promises that where He is, in the glory of heaven, there shall His own be also. "What the Almighty Son asked of the Almighty Father as His will ('I will') cannot be unfulfilled; for the will of the Father and the Son is one" (St. Augustine). The happiness of heaven will consist principally in this, that we shall gaze for ever on the glory of our God and Savior.
