July 23rd is the date of the death in a Soviet prison of Anna Abrikosova, whose beatification process started in 2005. Anna Abrikosova and her husband converted to Catholicism, foun Image via Wikipedia ded a parish of Eastern rite and a Dominican community. After the revolution, Anna gave a vow to sacrifice herself for saving Russia. Soon arrested, she suffered and died for her religious convictions and gave an astonishing example of holiness to the world. “The Abrikosovs began to gather around themselves young girls, wishing to find souls that would be committed entirely to God. This first group became the nucleus of the future commune of Dominican sisters. On November, 7th 1917 the new government began its fight against religion and the physical des Lenin speaking in Moscow. “Once, during an evening walk, they were visited by a strange vision. Looking at the sauntering public, instead of dolled up people they suddenly saw a crowd of skeletons, haphazardly covered with rags.”
“Gradually the soul begins to recognize in itself the awakening of a new life: the consciousness that there is a God, and the craving for Him is a fiery and insatiable one.”
Mother Mary said at Fatima: "My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the sure way which will lead you to God." St. Thomas Aquinas said: "The things we love tell us who we are!" With that in mind, I will try to post each day something about Our Blessed Lady, items about the Holy Roman Catholic Church, and public domain Catholic books too! I pray you enjoy my ministry! Below are two albums of pictures that I created: 1. Our grand daughter Adrianna. 2. Tears of Mary!
