[MaryVitamin] Month of May

Mary Vitamin for May 3rd

Topic: Month of May

Quote:
Fr. Stefano Manelli, FI
Likewise during the two Marian months of May and October, if we want to imitate Our Lady's true clients, we must not fail to take a part in the special veneration that the Church then pays to the heavenly Mother.
Father Stefano Manelli, FI, Devotion to Our Lady, (Academy of the Immaculate), 158.

Meditation:
St. Maximilian wrote a letter to his brother for the purpose of reminding him of the month of May, and he sent him a booklet that would be useful for every day of that Marian month. The letter was calculated to inspire him with great hopes of gaining very worthy fruits.
If people are faithful in their observance of these two months, they can obtain even extraordinary graces from Our Lady, both for themselves and for others. And most importantly spiritual favors of enlightenment, or renewed strength and devotion, of interior growth, of heavenly consolations, that only the Mother of God knows how to give --- these would not then be lacking.
Father Stefano Manelli, FI, Devotion to Our Lady, (Academy of the Immaculate), 159-60.

Resolution:
It's time to take advantage of the graces available to me during the Month of May. I will make one small effort to do something Marian for this month, every day. Even if it is something as small as keeping a vase with one flower in front of my image of the Blessed Virgin or one extra Hail Mary a day.
(Directory on Popular Piety and the Liturgy --chapter five on Veneration of the Mother of Our Lord)

Marian Vow:
One May St. Pio of Pietrelcina wrote his spiritual father, Now at last the month of our beautiful Mother has returned! This dear Mother continues to give me her fond, motherly attention, especially during this month.
Father Stefano Manelli, FI, Devotion to Our Lady, (Academy of the Immaculate), 159.

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.
