Dear Family of Mary!
"Dear children! I am inviting you for years by these messages which I am giving you. Little children, by means of the messages I wish to make a very beautiful mosaic in your hearts, so I may be able to present each one of you to God like the original image. Therefore, little children, I desire that your decisions be free before God, because He has given you freedom. Therefore pray, so that, free from any influence of Satan, you may decide only for God. I am praying for you before God and I am seeking your surrender to God. Thank you for responding to my call." (November 25, 1989)
If anyone ever asks why Our Lady is giving so many messages, and for so long, show them this message! In it she explains her strategy. And what an incredible goal she has in mind!
She tells us that for years she has been inviting us "by these messages." This is her best strategy. Our Lady comes and calls us through each message. She speaks to us in this regular way, always inviting us to listen to her, to follow her, to seek her Son, to desire heaven. She invites us in a very persistent manner. She doesn't give up. She doesn't back off. She doesn't stop caring. Our Mother comes to us through her words, with her motherly concern and love, and encourages us to keep going. This invitation is life-giving. We are not forgotten. She will not leave us alone. She is with us, inviting us.
But not only are we being invited by the messages to connect to her, Our Lady is doing something very powerful through the messages. She tells us that "by means of the messages I wish to make a very beautiful mosaic in your hearts, so I may be able to present each one of you to God like the original image." Our Mother has big plans for us. She wants to reconstruct us, from the inside out, so that we will begin to look more and more like what God intended us to look like in the first place. She is working with us to bring us closer and closer to our original innocence, the condition we would have been in if sin had never entered the world. She is helping us to be rehabilitated, through her messages. She wants us to become the beautiful creatures God always intended us to be. Little by little, by living her messages we have the opportunity to turn from sin and be healed of its consequences so that we will become more and more beautiful, more and more like God, in Whose image we were originally made.
Before the Fall
Mosaics are pictures that are constructed of hundreds of small tiles or pieces of glass, arranged in such a way that they make an image, a picture of some sort. The little tiles are of different colors, and are chosen to fit into a pattern that is predetermined by the artist. Each piece by itself is not remarkable, but as the pieces are assembled they begin to present the picture itself. These tiles all depend on each other to make the final image. Only the artist knows what he is doing. The tiles all fit together by his design.
Creation Mosaic
Our Lady is the artist of our hearts. If we are consecrated to her, and listening to each of her messages, we give her leave to make a mosaic in our hearts, to create something beautiful within us. She says that her messages are her tools for creating the mosaic. Her messages are step-by-step instructions for us, to cooperate in that work of art. Each message comes to us through the visionary, and brings to us a "tile" for the mosaic. It may be the tile of fasting, of prayer, of Scripture, of Holy Mass, of Confession, of love, of conversion, of mercy, of kindness, of forgiveness, of joy...But each tile comes when we need to hear it, and implants in our hearts the next piece of the mosaic, if we listen to it and live it. We may not see the importance of a message at first. Like the tiles of a mosaic, they may not stand alone or make sense. But as those tiles, those messages, are fitted together in our hearts, they begin to make beautiful sense. They begin to create a new person within us, a person of peace and love, of joy and prayer. That new person is closer and closer to the original image, the original person God intended us to be!
So, if we have been living Our Lady's messages for a week, a year, 10 years or more, we are all on the road to becoming beautiful! The image in our heart, the person being built, is becoming more and more like Jesus, more and more like the Father! Holiness is what makes us beautiful, like our Creator. And the messages can help us become holy, if we live them.
What an invitation we have been given by Our Lady of Medjugorje. She is with us to help us, to help us become holy. Tomorrow we will talk about the glue that holds this mosaic together in our hearts. It is essential for a mosaic to be glued together, so that the pieces stay put!
