Why Support Catholic Schools?

Catholic schools embrace a mission that is illegal in public schools: the embodiment of Jesus Christ in the faculty, staff, students, and their parents.

So why do my wife and I continue to write checks to support our grandchildren in Catholic schools, and why have we offered to double our support (or more) when they enter high school? It is not a matter of mere sentimentality or an unwillingness to renege on a promise made long ago (not that we would!). Rather, the reason we continue to support Catholic schools has to do with the mission and character of the two school systems. The difference boils down to this: One offers an environment that can be Catholic, and the other an environment that must be non-religious, even anti-religious.
