Dear Family of Mary!
"Dear children! May this time be for you a time of prayer and silence. Rest your body and spirit, may they be in God's love. Permit me, little children, to lead you, open your hearts to the Holy Spirit so that all the good that is in you may blossom and bear fruit one hundred fold. Begin and end the day with prayer with the heart. Thank you for having responded to my call." (July 25, 2011)
Yesterday, in the Office, I read this quote from St. Alphonsus Liguori. I have been thinking about it ever since. He wrote:
"All holiness and perfection of soul lies in our love for Jesus Christ our God, who is our redeemer and our supreme good."
I just keep thinking about this statement.
"All holiness and perfection of soul lies in our love for Jesus Christ our God, who is our redeemer and our supreme good."
It reminds me of something Denis said to his students in religion class, wh

Brilliant! Because everything we do, say and think should be done in relationship with Jesus. He is our Savior, our Lord, our best friend, and our brother. Our entire life has meaning only because of Him. And so, everything we do, say or think, we do to Him, for Him, in Him and through Him. He is the one we are in relationship with. And if what we do is done out of love for Him, it will be good.
If we fall in love with Jesus, we will always have the desire to please Him. In that way, we will open our hearts to His Holy Spirit who will make everything good blossom and bear fruit within us. Love is the very best counselor!

Also, today is the day that we can all receive the Portiuncula Plenary Indulgence of St. Francis. The Indulgence: "The Portiuncula indulgence is the first plenary indulgence that was ever granted in the Church. But, as already remarked, he who gains the Portiuncula indulgence is freed from all temporal punishments and becomes as pure as after holy baptism. This was also the reason why Pope Honorius was astonished when St. Francis petitioned for the confir

August 2nd is the feast of Portiuncula. A plenary indulgence is available to anyone who will:
1. Receive sacramental confession (8 days before or after)
2. Receive the Holy Eucharist at Holy Mass on August 2nd
3. Enter a parish church and, with a contrite heart, pray the Our Father, Apostles Creed, and a prayer of his/her own choosing for the intentions of the Pope.
Please tell every Catholic person you know that remission of the punishment for all sins committed from the day of baptism to the reception of the indulgence is available.
