Catholic Priest: Wiped out in the flood

This morning a letter was waiting on our president, Joe Maher’s desk. Unfortunately, Father Paul will have to wait (I HATE having to say that to a Catholic priest!).

We don’t have the funds available to help him immediately:

“Good morning Mr. Maher,
Thank you for your good wishes for Thanksgiving. I started the day by going to the local church to thank the Good Lord for His countless blessings at the early Mass. Then returned "home" to continue writing one of the books I'm trying to put together. Finding work is very difficult and at my age with failing health, it’s impossible. I have my Social Security and could get by on that until recently.
I am in dire need of financial assistance. I am presently renting a room, temporarily, in the center of New York State, while looking for an affordable place to stay. Since the disaster of the RV in which I use to live was wiped out in the flood, I have been going from one place to another looking for an affordable place. From what I read, the apartments have gone up by close to 25% in the past year. So, I really don't have a "permanent" place to live yet. Not knowing how long I will be at one place, I've kept my P.O. Box to receive the necessary correspondence, such as "bills".
Let us keep in mind where we can give the best expression of thanks: at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass!

Assuring you of my humble but sincere prayers for you, your family, your intentions and your painful but most rewarding ministry,
Through His Loving Mercy and the continued intercession and protection of Mother Mary,

Father Paul
The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind: ‘You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek’ Ps. 110:4”

We are fast approaching Christmas and the end of the fiscal year, and for many people and companies this is also a time to make a charitable contribution.

That's why we would like to ask you to send a tax-deductible contribution to Opus Bono Sacerdotii for the urgent care of poor Catholic priests. Anything you could send would help provide for the basic living expenses and health of suffering priests.

We know that many people are experiencing economic hardships. But, if you can find a way this Advent to send a contribution to Opus Bono, the many, many Catholic priests who are urgently waiting in-line for our assistance would be most grateful!

In the U.S. for your tax-deduction the Identification Number of Opus Bono Sacerdotii is: 03-0448257.

If we could raise about $100,000 before the end of the year, it would be the first time in our ten year history that we could provide for every priest who is in dire need of our assistance at this time!

That would be the miracle of Christmas miracles for these poor suffering priests.

Opus Bono exists 100% thanks to the generosity of its donors, our Partners in Mission.

Please help us to provide for the urgent needs of all priests this Christmas.
We count on you!

Thank you and a blessed Advent,

Pete
