January 15, 2013 Dear Children of Medjugorje, praised be Jesus and Mary! 1. On January 2nd, 2013, Mirjana received her monthly apparition at the Blue Cross, surrounded by an impressive crowd from many countries, who had come to start the year with Jesus and Mary. After the apparition, Mirjana gave us the following message: "Dear children, with much love and patience I strive to make your hearts like unto mine. I strive, by my example, to teach you humility, wisdom and love because I need you; I cannot do without you my children. According to God's will I am choosing you, by His strength I am strengthening you. Therefore, my children, do not be afraid to open your hearts to me. I will give them to my Son and in return, He will give you the gift of divine peace. You will carry it to all those whom you meet, you will witness God's love with your life and you will give the gift of my Son through yourselves. Through reconciliation, fasting and prayer, I will lead you. Immeasurable is my love. Do not be afraid. My children, pray for the shepherds! May your lips be shut to every judgment, because do not forget that my Son has chosen them and only He has the right to judge. Thank you." 2. Who could not know Roland Patzeiner!? For years now, Roland has been singing, playing the guitar and even composing songs for the evening holy hours in Medjugorje. With his community, "Figli del Divino Amore," (Sons of Divine Love) he often travels abroad to play and sing at Marian conferences. On December 18th, he was ordained a deacon in Italy, with his community gathered around him. Let us pray for him, for his calling, and for his art of enhancing the prayers of the faithful. Let us also give thanks to God for his wonderful musical accompaniment, the remarkable violinist Melinda. Together, they produce beautiful CDs (See PS 4 for info.) 3. Block off every access for the evil one! During a mission in Italy, a man came up to me and joyfully exclaimed, "Sister, I'm so happy! I went on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje this year, and experienced a deep conversion! I gave up almost all my sins!" "Almost?????" I asked. "Yes! There is only one I still keep." "But, why did you keep that sin?" "Because I like that one!" I looked down at the floor to recollect my thoughts and examine my soul. It was important not to give a careless answer to this statement. "How could you voluntarily hold on to a sin?" "But I dropped all the others! There is only one left." "Look, my friend, we are all sinners. However, it is one thing to fail out of weakness, it is quite another to actually want to continue sinning. When you receive Jesus in the Eucharist, you tell Him that you love Him, that you adore Him, that you are so happy to know Him, don't you? So how is it that at the same time, you slap Him most cruelly in the face? It is my sin, yours, and those committed by all men that nailed Jesus to the cross. So you decided to hurt Him again by keeping a sin alive?" "Why are you saying that? The sin I want to keep is hurting Him? Oh my gosh! I never thought of it that way!" "In addition to that, wanting to keep a serious sin is like keeping a door open for the evil one, who is nothing short of delighted to have that private little entrance he can use to come and do his damage inside you, in your family, your health, and mess up your life without your even realizing where the problem is coming from." "Well, I will do everything I can to renounce even this sin! Please pray for me!" This man was sincere. He simply lacked some basic information! There is such ignorance today about the Christian faith. Huge numbers of "believers" are unaware of even very basic realities. Satan is lulling our consciences to sleep by making us focus solely on our earthy wellbeing. Saint John of the Cross wept with compassion when, seeing so many souls abandoned to their own devices, dangerously wandered about without direction when they were in fact all called to a high degree of sanctity. What a waste! Our Mother never ceases to call us to become witnesses, apostles and missionaries, because the harvest is more abundant than ever! She sees it all clearly. For her children who do not yet know the love of God, the sufferings that come from serious sins ( some that are permitted and encouraged by civil laws!) is immense. Lawmakers and governments bear a heavy responsibility before God. The words of Saint Paul: "The wages of sin is death", have not become obsolete today. Our culture of death is creating agony for millions of children and young people! So Mary comes to Medjugorje to proclaim that our true peace is in Jesus alone. Because not many of us are listening, she even arranged for her Son Himself to speak to us at Christmas: "I am your peace. Live my commandments", he said on December 25th. In the Gospel, He already told us, "If you will to enter into life, keep the commandments." 3. Great joy in finding souls given entirely to God! My dear friend Gianna was an ordinary woman, a mother, a full-time doctor, who was deeply moved by the Gospa's call last September. Here is an excerpt of that message: "Dear children, as my eyes are looking at you, my soul is seeking those souls with whom it desires to be one - the souls who have understood the importance of prayer for those of my children who have not come to know the love of the Heavenly Father. I am calling you because I need you. Accept the mission and do not be afraid! (See PS2) Gianna sent to me the following prayer and her offering that she composed, which is probably a balm for the heart of our Mother at this crucial time in today's spiritual war. "O my Mother, I welcome these words as a very personal invitation. You know my desire to put your instructions into practice. You also know my weakness, and that is why I give you my YES today, safely entrusted into your hands, so that you may offer it to God. I renew the consecration of my entire being to Jesus, taking refuge in the school of your Immaculate Heart, so that you can be one with me as you desire. "I commit to living everything that the Father, in His great love, will permit me to experience both within me and around me, for those of your children who do not yet know the love of God, and for the priests. "As a sign of this consecration, I will receive sacramental, or at least spiritual, communion every day, and shall sing perfect praise to the Holy Trinity with the words of your Magnificat. "In close union with you, I will live all things in the simplicity of my daily life. With your help and maternal teachings, may all the adorable desires of the Father become accomplished in perfection, both within me and through me." Dearest Gospa, what is in store for us in the year 2013? You know it, as God knows it, and you are leading us accordingly! We want to fulfill God's plans for us and thus find in Him the true peace we all yearn for so badly! Have mercy on our lukewarmness and please don't tire to help us!
