Here's a very interesting story from Catholic News. I remember back in the 70's how this way of receiving was forced upon us in the local parish by Sister 'Modernism' and Father 'Updated'! I also remember Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta quoted as saying it was not good to receive in the hand. Personally, I think kneeling should also be required for receiving Holy Communion, unless a person cannot kneel due to his or her health condition. After all, we are in the presence of God when we receive Holy Communion!
